To be honest(and being anal), it's quite easy to spot a hfac case. Though the case seems like it has better finishing but it's quite different compared to a gen. Some maybe fine with it but once you have handled a gen Pam, you will notice the difference in finishing and look. I still stand by my decision that v4 Noob is the most accurate case at the moment. However, considering the price of these hfacs, it seems good enough for me.

Does that still apply to v4 noobs using v3 cgs?

If it wasn't a difference between the 150$ rep and a gen 4000$ it would be quite embarrassing for Panerai. I have never owned a gen and the reps I have had has all been from noob factory and those where really nice. I'm exited to receive this new H case but I'm not expecting a miracle.

yes. the only problem i see with it is the lever angle. if you can live with it then v4 has a more genlike feel.

Old caseset, tick bezel... get a look on the first pair of HF posted. The bezel is different, the only way to know if you are buying an old batch or the last batch

Do you have a link to any of the TD:s for this model?

I think this thread is great but I see it highlighting an inconsistences in our dealers already. We are very deeply involved in this hobby where many dealers are just running a business and don't have the focus we have. I hope we continue to let our members know who is accurate and who is not in the dealer department. I for one only want to give my business to dealers that report information accurately and do excellent QC. of course I understand things slip through and a pass can be given but if a pattern is seen good or bad we should let our members know. This also applies to our watch modders. I can think of one of the most highly regarded producers here who has achieved near god like status when in fact there is so much room for improvement especially in the high end rep department.

Agreed with the post above. It was part of my initial plan when i started this thread, to let members know which TD can source accurate models and cases. However i now believe (despite what certain members or TD claims), TDs do not get to choose their watches. They get their watches from the same source and when certain batch runs out, a TD that gives u good cases might be given old cases from the main source/factory. For example, i asked nearly every TD to source for a 390 noob from the previous batch and none could find one. Most TDs couldn't care less about what case you get (an example above whr TD claims its a new case but fact is its the old crap). My advice is, to pickup this hobby you need to learn. Alot.

Anyway, less texts more pictures please! Hope to see more Noob pams. Quite curious with their use of parts lately since they are going on a transitional period.

How do you tell it's the new case when it has the tall bezel?

Based on lugs and lugholes placement, overall finish quality and very well defined (probably even more than gen) edges. I am not really PAM expert but I believe that tall bezel is actually en attribute of new cases as it's caused by too well defined (not rounded as noob or gen) transition edge between lower vertical and sloped surface of the bezel. Maybe there are already different batches of new cases/bezels. Some taller with sharper edge and some bit lower with slightly more rounded edge.

390 Noob (asked TD for latest v4) purchased Thu, May 14, 2015 TSW received about a week after payment. I have included few qc pics in other post, but may as well keep all references under Luminor 44 thread.

This is my first watch, so it is hard for me to compare to anything else feel wise. I say, it feels first class and very high quality. Dial, hands, finish, case around the lugs in the corners polished, crown not wobbly, guard finish first class, lever is nice and tight, it probably has a rubber bushing similar to gen luminor. I Loctite the screws, so I don't loose them but they were very tight. I don't think on the outside it can get much better for the price. Expect to replace the strap sooner that later.

Worth to note that even the latest hfac cases have different batches. The one i received have a slightly thinner bezel. From my survey the 000,111,112 etc comes with random cases. Boutique models have better case and usually more consistent. Don't take my word for as it is based from my observation on various qcs.

@Netbis71 : Do you mind showing us a picture of the lever? If possible, take it from this angle. For those who are confused regarding lever angle, please refer to diagram below.
