BP's Explorer I line up is confusing as it gets. It seems there are two version of the 316L and two 904L.

316 BP A3132: http://www.trustytime.club/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=1_3&products_id=17423
316 BP A2836: http://www.trustytime.club/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=1_3&products_id=18286

904 BP A3132: http://www.trustytime.club/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=1_3&products_id=19575
904 BP A2824: https://www.intime04.co/rollie/5915...ack-dial-904l-ss-case-and-bracelet-a3824.html

Strangely enough both 904 version have the wrong caseback (brushed) although they have supposedly come out later. Also, the movement in the 904 BP A2824 looks very similar/identical to A2836 pictures so it's possible it's a typo. I am not an expert so not sure but everything looks the same.

It would be very helpful if BP or whoever deals with those can clear this up. If the watch on intime is indeed a typo then things would be clearer - there is simply two steel versions of each watch. Otherwise BP must have just thrown in whatever they could get their hands on.

What I saw on gen pictures are brushed for caseback, correct me if I am wrong.

Just got my BP 2824 explorer in the mail 2 days ago.

A bit of a mixed bag of feelings.. on the one hand the watch looks excellent on the wrist. Sizing the bracelet was effortless - it just needed a good clean and an oil bath to get the squeaks out.

Upon closer inspection is a bit disappointing. Yes, it costs less than the ARF version but still cost more than the ZF bb58 I also ordered which is flawless. BP's QC isn't quite there. There is a pit/dirt on the lume in 9, and some pitting/scratches on the polished bezel that I can only guess happened when pressing in the crystal.

My first QC had similar issues with pitting on the lug by the bracelet.

Overall this isn't a huge issue as I'm sure it'll pick up a few scratches here and there during its life but I prefer to be the one making these imperfections.

Just ordered this BP dial and hands;
Might try to fit it and an ETA 2824 in my JF depending on how the dial compares. Else, I may just chop the feet and slap it on the 3132 clone.

Thank you for sharing this!
May I ask, why did you also get the BP hands?
To my knowledge, the BP hands appear „flat“ and I’m asking specifically because this is the only detail that is holding me back. Thank you!

Mind sharing some photos? I am waiting for my QC photos now. Thank you!

i can see that speck of dust in the "9" you mentioned. rest of it looks good though. rehaut seems to align pretty well.
The scratches on the bezel could probably be taken care of with some cape cod

Im not really complaining about my explorer, I know it will get banged up a bit. My post is more of a PSA regarding BPs QC for this particular model.

My TD was watchfinder, whom I find is fantastic. I know he picked out the best watch for me. Its just sad that both QCs I was shown have defects in the finishing of the case.

Not a prob, i only asked because I'm thinking about getting a BP myself haha. As long as you enjoy your watch, that's what really matters.

It seems like the BP is most gen like - but maybe not as well made as the ARF. In the end, I'm happy with my decision. I value the easy of servicing/replacing the a2824 movement vs the 3135.

Go for it! Just check your QC carefully :)
