I know you're a realist and would also never try to pass off as gen (duh), but how close would you say your Explorer "feels" and looks to gen? I imagine after owning JF, BP, and ARF your creation must be the best Explorer rep you've ever seen, no?

I assume on the wrist it looks near perfect, yes? Any major microscopic tells besides the BP rehaut? I have read it's awful...

rehaut, crown (316, on the 914 its better imho) and builtquality of the dial on a microscopic level are the cons of the BP.

edit: here you see my BP 316 with ARF braclet...

I just received my BP today. It is the older model with 316L steel and A2836 movement. I got the older model because it was $100 cheaper, and I didn't care for the newer model's 904L and A2824.

Overall great watch, except two things:
1. SELs are horrible. All four SELs have a portion where they sit higher than the lugs. Really makes me want to try an ARF bracelet as many others have mentioned
2. Dial is slightly rotated to the left, maybe about a degree. Therefore the 12 o'clock marker doesn't line up to the rehaut's crown. This is super hard to tell tho unless you examine the dial/rehaut close up.

Did your BP bracelet have horrible SELs like mine, where parts of the SELs unfortunately sit higher than the lugs? I would take flush SELs over my wonky SELs.

And what are your overall thoughts about the ARF bracelet besides SELs? My first rep was a noob sub v9 and the noob bracelet was crazy sharp everywhere; definitely not gen-like and I had to sand the corners and edges of the bracelet to make it feel better. The first thing I noticed on the BP bracelet is that the edges are nice and soft, which is great. However it also felt a little light, maybe "cheap" is not the best word but I think it didn't have the weight like the noob. What about the ARF?

hokim bp bracelet was pretty good, but the arf ís a lot better, nothing sharp etc. - its the best you can get.
timgefahr i had to zoom in your picture to see what the problem is...^^ yes, you are too picky. afai can see, i would accept it. (ever had a gen 14270 tritium in hand?^^) as i said, on a microscopic level the arf dial is of better builtquality, but if you want a as gen as it gets rep dial, bp is #1...

I just got this beauty in about 2 days ago and ive worn it non stop. This watch is amazing quality. ETA version for me as I did not want to risk the SA3132 movement if it breaks. the watch is running well and it looks a feels like a proper explorer! The rehaut is the slightest bit off but i dont think anyone is looking that close on a macro level.

I finally get to wear and try one on properly as they are never in the ADs here in Vancouver!

nice! i'm also in vancouver, which dealer did you end up getting it from, and how long did it take?

I always use Sead over at supermirrors. He's a bit slow on the email response but his QC is very good. This one took awhile as he kept getting some crappy versions from BP. I'd recommend picking up the 904L version with ETA clone movement.
