The only very visible flaw I guess is the DW being too bold? @lukko is the ARF version SH3135 because most TDs put SA3135?

i hate 3135 superclone because I am so used to the reliability of ETA movements, but I have no choice because I really hate cutting the feet off a genuine Rolex dial hah
i will definitely use the newer baton lume markers - the lume effect on these newer dials are prettier as well
i just calculated the cost of the genuine dial - the cost of a genuine date disc + genuine dial will cost nearly the same amount as the watch

it will be an expensive but straightforward franken at least!

Gentlemen, I'm trying to follow along with your conversation about dials but I'm a little confused now. Which genuine dial is the correct dial for this ARF 36mm? with both 5 and 6 digits fit just one is not correct for the model? Can you please clarify? Thanks guys!

@pompompurin I should have PM'd you. I was in HK this week for the Clearwater Bay Open :)) Next time hopefully!

Wow nice! You were at one of the nicest places in HK. Hope you enjoyed your trip here and yup, there is always a next time!

As for which dial is correct, there is a handful of certain types of Roman dial (with specific fonts - not to be confused with the older 162xx series of "SWISS MADE" non-luminous Roman dial) and basically any Rolex 36mm datejust dial that has the appropriate gold/silver luminous baton.

When I mean that "any Rolex 36mm datejust dial that has the appropriate gold/silver luminous baton", I mean by something like the 116234 picture below (notice that the dial indices/baton has rectangular lume)

By comparison, here is the older version of datejust (16234) with non-luminous baton (instead there is a lume dot/plot next to the indices/baton)

As for the Roman dial versions, the older 16200 datejust series of Roman dial has different "ROLEX OYSTER PERPETUAL DATEJUST" font when compared to the newer 116200 series of dial (in my opinion and this applies for all roman dial colour)

Thank you very much for the clarification. Completely understand now. Much love!! Oh, and yes.....I had a wonderful time in HK as I always do; Great golf courses, spectacular food, fun city life and watch heaven. HK is the place. Love it. Wife was born and raised there. Haha.

Almost pulled the trigger on these older model Datejust. But I want to mod the ARF on jubilee like you did with silver dial and dw. So classy and elegant simplicity. Love it!

glad you enjoyed it here - sounds like you will be back again soon if your wife has experienced living here!

wow a 16220 on the left and 16014 on the right?

i think you made a good choice to go franken one instead! The fun and savings are much bigger!
and those deals are alright in Hong Kong - I have seen 16014 for $15k at its cheapest and the 16220 at $21k at its cheapest (but both are sold without papers and by private sellers - not in shops)

Does anyone know if the gen fluted bezels from the older 36mm case will fit?
