Also @gamba66 (please don't flame the newbie-im still trying to read and learn as much as I can) Will this case take another movement option? Easy to swap in a more reliable movement?

You can swap the SH movement with an ETA 2824-2 and rafflesdials movement ring but it wont be a straight swap because ETA movements accept different dials, hands and datewheels.

That means the movement ring will have to be modified with two holes for the dial feet, the hands will have to be modified or replaced with compatible ones (raffles) and you will either have to modify the stock (or noob DW because its better) to work as an overlay or get a datewheeloverlay from rafflesdials.com

@pompourin can provide more info concerning the swap.

Thank you for the sharing this information. Raffles looks like an interesting site especially for someone who can build watches. Well, good news is at least there's options if the SH movements take a dump.

Or you could just service the sh3135 and it will almost certainly be fine

i hate 3135 superclone because I am so used to the reliability of ETA movements, but I have no choice because I really hate cutting the feet off a genuine Rolex dial hah
i will definitely use the newer baton lume markers - the lume effect on these newer dials are prettier as well
i just calculated the cost of the genuine dial - the cost of a genuine date disc + genuine dial will cost nearly the same amount as the watch

it will be an expensive but straightforward franken at least!

No need for gen crystal replacement for the cherry on top clarity factor?

All those gen upgrades for less than $500? Still only fraction of the cost of 100% gen but on the wrist you'll have 99.9% gen looking. I'm sold....daddy want one!!

They really need to fix that DW font. One of the easiest things and they stuff this up.

The stock JF crystal has AR-coated on cyclops according to puretime description

I believe from my research, the gen 116200 series doesn't use crystal with AR-coated on cyclops so you can change the crystal to gen normal 25 295c LEC if you want. But from my experience with JF 16610 LN, stock crystal clarity should be fine

it's not just a matter of 99.9% looking like gen as well, the SH3135 movement will need servicing to get it running smoothly. My timegraph results on my stock SH3135 shows significantly random timing deviations at different angles/position. So add $100-200 for servicing

of course, but I was simply referring cosmetically at the time. :)

Definitely, the movement is significant and can't be ignored. However, seems I've read mixed reviews about the SH3135 and whether to service or not to service. Many who've had it serviced seem to report it running smoothly after that but they're still a few who've reported problems. Obviously theres multiple variables involved - gets just a hit and miss regardless. I'd prefer to have it serviced upon arrival - seems logical and can only bring benefits if done by an experienced watch smith

If I was planning on changing anything, I would not worry about servicing until I had all my parts gathered up for modding. No point in opening the watch twice if you can help it.

Also, if you buy from a TD you should get the piece graphed to have an idea how your movt is running before it ships.

Try requesting @Thehitman via PM. He's had excellent results with rhodium plating the DJ fluted bezel and platinum mod for the Yacht-Master bezels.

Are the dials really that different from gen ? Also, anybody know a TD who would be willing to swap date wheel with a Noob one or it's only a modder thing ?

The lume looks like the lume on my dj41/DJ II which I'm still tryna figure out which one mine is :/.

Here's a lume pic from my DJ II/41 got from toro recently

Also if any of ya gents could possibly help identify mine that'd be much appreciated lol

I'm starting to think mine is possibly an ARF? Here's a link to where you can find my post with more pics:

hi man, yours looks like a BP Datejust II (the older model), based on the lug shapes and the back of the case (there is excess case left around the caseback where the DJ 41 sits flush, go look at some pics if i did not explain it well enough, but hope you catch my drift. btw DJII should have light blue chromolight lume and not green lume

Stunning bro!!! Absolutely beautiful!

You see those fine line that look like scratches? You have those on the black dials too, many people think these are just plain glossy black but they actually also have a very light sunburst effect under bright light.

Its not as easy to see on pictures bit here is a closeup. Looks like a very soft sunburst effect.

Congrats on that dial, once you own a genuine one you know why a rep dial is world aparts.
