New AP 26240 with 4401 Super Clone movement is coming

I have to date received quite a few PMs and reports about your posts on this thread.
Basically to sum it up, they can come across as antagonistic, supercilious, or plain mean.

I mean look, asking guys who share their 26240CEs to deliberately try to bend and break their bracelets isn’t a nice thing to do. The guys were just sharing their purchases and they have every right to be proud owners. It also came across as condescending to those who read those series of posts. Of course I get that you’re smart enough to disguise the intentions of your posts with your follow up responses and I just let it slide, only to have you repeat them again. Now that won’t do.

If anyone has the right to be supercilious here, I would like you to be reminded that I own the gen 26240CE and also the 26240ST. Now if I can let the members enjoy their very excellent reps and celebrate with them, I don’t see why anyone here should do otherwise. Let the members enjoy their watches which they have ordered, waited, resized and then put them on their wrists. Let them have their moments of pride instead of ruining them with your comments. This thread is designed for members to share their pictures and comments on the watch and not for them to be ridiculed or chastised each time someone posts something which you do not agree with or just see as an opportunity to ridicule. I want the members who want to share their watches to be able to do so without fear of ridiculous requests or nonsense demands or questions. This stops now.

As a courtesy to you I’ll like to inform you that the next such post of yours on this thread will earn you a permanent thread ban. It’ll apply to also any thread which you bring this behavior to from now. Please play nice. This is an excellent rep and as exciting as, if not more so than when the 4130 clone Daytona was released. Let the members have their fun. They certainly earned it.
You do not need to agree with what I said but you just need to comply with it. I’ve made the rather overdue call that this thread will be better without comments like those you’ve made and if I see just one more like that, you will not be able to access this thread anymore. I understand the sarcasm believe me. We all get it that there was a manufacturing flaw in the first couple of batches of the 26240CE.

Your joke will work a lot better if you ordered the watch and used it as a subject instead of commenting that way on the watches of others when their intentions are just to share pictures of their new acquisitions.

Like “hey everyone I flexed my bracelet and it broke on the 7th try!” Or “hey look it won’t survive a 10ft drop to concrete don’t try it!”
Trust me that would have been taken a lot better. Now why on earth would you do that right?
The exact same applies to these excited new owners.

Also again the best way to get answers to questions you asked is to order a sample for yourself and check whatever detail you want. Others here will tell you how they feel and if that is not to your liking remember that they are free to answer however they like and their answers may not suit your expectation. There is no standard template or unit of measurement for bracelet sharpness and each one will feel a different way with the same bracelet. Why pick on a single member’s opinion when he had told you how it felt to him?

So while I appreciate your courteous reply, kindly extend the same courtesy to everyone here.
The same condition I mentioned in my preceding post still applies, not because I dislike you in any way but for the atmosphere in this thread. If someone wants to share his ceramic ROC he should be able to do so without being accosted with questions which are repetitive and serves no purpose except to create undue anxiety or apprehension.

You obviously are a smart fella and it will be more meaningful for you to use that to help members instead of making them feel like they’ve made bad decisions each time they post something. Thank you.

I will likely be offloading a couple watches in the coming weeks. Need to make room in the box, I only ever keep what I can fit in the 12 slots. Ever since I saw this watch, it was calling my name. Aside from that silly engraving on the rotor, everything else looked amazing. Had to have it.

So it doesn’t need polishing and when you run your fingers it doesn’t feel sharp?

I can answer this for you, not a problem. The edges of the bracelet are definitely more comfortable with that slight bezel.

To answer about it feeling sharp when running your fingers across it... the answer is really depending on which way you run your fingers across the underside of the bracelet.

If you run your fingers in an outward motion, perpendicular to the bracelet, it is much better than the old stock 15500 reps. The bezel is there. Is it as smooth as one done by Legend? The answer is no, Legend does an amazing job of softening these edges. However, running your fingernail against this edge doesn't result in scratches on your nail (see BLUE arrows for this.)

Where I do find sharpness is running my finger parallel to the bracelet in an up and down fashion. The corners of the links where they articulate are sharper than the edges and definitely need some work to soften, although not sure exactly how one would do that. Because these corners are folded under for the most part when wearing, I haven't really been bothered by them in the few hours of wearing this since receiving last night. (See the RED arrows for this.)

AP bracelets are sharper than a lot of other brands and lack a bit of the refinement you would find in say a Rolex Oyster bracelet. This is the case with gens as well, documented in many places on the internet. It's just how AP makes 'em. I do have a fine sanding and polishing stick set (like padded finger nail files) if I ever wanted to attempt to improve the bracelet edges, but as it sits now, I have no plans to do that. I find the bracelet not as comfortable as an Oyster, but way better than the old stock 15500.
