Find a red and a blue you are happy with - again - find a reference you like.
I favour using model paint rather than artists acrylic as you can do with 1 coat.

Thanks for your input, just did pop the insert out and filed it : it starting to took good ; would you have ref paints to give (that's really what I'm after since I don't have experience there).

Oh, and just ordered a gen crown to finally replace the poo stock one.

Another question about dial : how difficult is it to place and glue feet on the ones that Rubys is proposing ?

Experiment on the bezel ^^

Lovely. I’m putting a Ruby’s albino dial on mine this week. I’ve noticed that dial looks best against a dark insert.

Did you paint a yellow lacquer over the top to warm up the numbers?

Wow,
the numbers really pop.

What is the best way to contact Phong? I notice jewelryandwatch.com is now gone.
Still working mate, maybe it was just down for a minute, i just went on the website

Make sure you're sitting down when you look at the price he will ask for the insert,
That price is for the complete assembly and insert but I think the bulk of the price is the insert

Haha, thanks! And Ouch! It's a sweet piece, for sure. I'm thinking that I might not take it that far... but you never know. Does anyone know if the NDtrading one is comparable?

I don't think this is a good value proposition. A vietnam case & caseback which includes insert and bezel is 900 USD. Since the case on these "budget" reps is so rubbish you're much better off investing extra $250.00 and get everything than just the insert

You’ll probably end up mixing paints to get he shade you like. Remember it will dry darker as well.

best way to fix dial feet in my opinion is buy some new ones with a counter / disk on top. Install the feet into the movement, take off the dial spacer and put a dot of epoxy on the top of each dial foot. Install the dial, wait a day for it to dry. Remember to put the dial washer back when you are done. Be very sparing with the glue, and don’t use superglue.

Here she be! Doing +1 second a day. I accepted it. DW needs some work but I have gotten good at centering them. No issue for me.

mclarendude,
What is your technique for centering the DW? mine is similarly biased towards the bottom of the window like yours. Can the dial feet be simply loosened and rotate the dial to better align things?

Mine is also from li, and it was such a nice looking piece I didn't be want to send it back. Yours is awesome as well, how is it holding up?

I really cannot explain. It’s a trial/error thing.

No, the dial doesn’t work that way. You have to remove the datewheel overlay from the datewheel, clean up the adhesive off and then use a delay epoxy and start moving it until you get good alignment. There are many tutorials here on how to do it.

I sold mine a while back but it was doing great. It’s a nice watch.

I actually don't have the watch yet. I was just going off the QC pics. It might not be as bad as yours. I've been stuck inside waiting on something to do and this would be the time to sort it.

I'm going out of my mind waiting lol

I ordered a D-link jube from raffles and a a different clasp for the folded oyster bracelet. The vintage folded link jubilee offerings from Ruby was a bit out of my price range

Very nice! Did you change the bezel insert?

Thank you. No, the bezel insert is stock - the aftermarket ones are insanely priced.

Its re-painted and has some thinned down yellow / brown lacquer applied to take away the ugly green on the lume. The back of the blue area has a yellowish varnish applied, otherwise the lume on the top half takes on a bit the blue paint colour. I wanted it to match as close as possible with the beautiful Ruby's dial. I shaped it with some wet and dry, then varnished it, before tossing it around for a bit in a box of pool filter sand and nails.

All I need are the dial feet and new plexiglass, but they haven't arrived yet!

Mine has arrived from Jtime. I notice the crown and tube has no seals at all. Did anyone elses?

I can't tell if there is a groove in the tube for one or not
