I heard that Josh from PC revealed the bezels on his are aluminum ones that were lumed and then coated in plastic. Easy to believe if you look at it closely. Do you know if the ones Li can get have bakelite bezels?

Li's is a bakelite bezel. That's a nice deal, especially with an engraved caseback. I'd have to re-lume the dial and hands, I hate that ugly lume. But the bezel and caseback win out.

You can see the aluminum bezel markers shadowing under the lume on the PC insert.

Li's is a bakelite bezel. That's a nice deal, especially with an engraved caseback. I'd have to re-lume the dial and hands, I hate that ugly lume. But the bezel and caseback win out.

Still, that’s only $20 more than the initial price from TS, plus it’s got the Pan Am engraving which would cost an extra $100 to do. Of course that’s if the engraving is important to you- some say it is only myth

Dagnabbit! You guys are killin me! Lol. Youve smashed all my hopes of opening my package and seeing two Bakelite beauties staring up at me (if it ever arrives).
All I want is a freakin Bakelite bezel - I’ll take it on a @#$& Minnie Mouse watch for goodness sake. I’ve started trying to make my own and wife almost kicked me out of the house from all the fumes in my office from different chemicals. She laughs every time I put watch parts and different shi7 in the oven.
All of the beautiful 6542s and albinos and Bakelites you all are all flaunting around, and now Pan-Am backs.... aaaaaargh! Lol.
Post more pics please as I guess I must resort to living vicariously through you all in the meantime. ????
