As far as I remember I read somewhere here a standard 1.2 mm friction pin would fit.

As far as I remember I read somewhere here a standard 1.2 mm friction pin would fit.
I see. A couple of months ago JTime could source a pair of it for me from the factory.
Can someone measure the thickness? TD website says 9.5mm but I’ve read somewhere from someone who measured it already that the thickness is 10mm.
I had my case thinning done by slaughterer62 here on the forum. Mind you, this was for an AP RO, so I'm uncertain if he does 5712, but you can always ask him. He is based in Germany and easy to work with.

Nice they offer also the grey dial, but the pictures are pretty rubbish. It is hard to forge an opinion me think

Looks same to the previous ZF/PPF rendition. I guess the decor plate of the movement is glued either. At least they could have fixed the jewel color.

I just received my 5712 PPF, just ordered before CNY from Puretime.
As you all know I am impatient and order anything that comes in fast (so I have 2 5712s).
I got a 5712 from M2m which I quite like and find to be perfect.
I just received a new 5712 and was a little disappointed or surprised. Perhaps I have been asleep.
Didn't realize it had a fat first link that doesnt articulate.
Crown is actually 2 mm longer and appears to be quite different.
Not an issue but the ceramic ball bearing on the new one seems much bigger.
and minor issue is the fake back plate wasn't glued straight so looks a bit cheap.
Also the new bracelet doesnt have as much articulation (all links, not just the first one) wears tighter.
I didnt think the one I got from M2m is modified in any way, thought it was stock. Either the new ones arent as good or mine was modified.
I have many Pateks on order and noticed many of my new QC photos seem to have longer crowns. not sure if its just my eyes. In this case, the 5712 crown actually measured 2 mm longer.
Going to use the new one as a beater and keep my old one in the box

On a side note, was going to use the new one as donor parts to fix my old clasp since it was loose, but the new links dont move as much. Was also going to use the new bezel to replace old ones that has minor scratches. However going to abort project and just use this 5712 as a good beater. risk isnt worth the reward

Holding both of them, the one with the small first link feels so much better and thinner even though they are both the same thickness at 9.5mm
Thank you for this. Clearly RWI different batches but the differences are staggering…
