im really considering a gen dial for this, but then again the best part of this rep is the blue of the dial so I'm torn. I feel like the raised "lines" on the dial have a very abrupt cutoff at the seconds subdial compared to gen or that could just be the lighting

Thanks for sharing those pics TonySoprano1
Looks awesome, congrats and well wear

Just wondering on functionality if you don't mind me asking.
Is it working as reported here previously, or any difference with the one you finally received.

Happy with it?

I have the same clasp issue - seems the rivet/ball bearing on one side of the clasp has come off. It was there on the QCs so I dunno.

I do have an old beater 5711 PPF v1 I believe so I'll take that one for parts. No big deal.

Dial is incredible as it's been mentioned before.

I've been lucky to own (and an idiot to sell) a gen 5712 in the past (Oh 2013, what a time to be alive) and it stands up IMO

It’s not possible to use rubber b with this model, only with nautilus that already have leather strap

Oh dear, this thing looks so good, I am now thinking of buying this too and this would finally be my first PP.

I have tried to follow the information regarding the maker: PPF and ZF are now the same watch, right? But G(r)een maker is the better one in terms of appearance of the movement or at least the setting of the balance jewels, right? I see that most people here opt for PPF/ZF. Does G(r)een maker not play a big role anymore?

Seems like you are missing a jewel on the gear above the balancewheel mate. Cup looks empty. hopefully it is not somewhere in the movement

Yeah you’re right.

Can’t see it in the movement tbh so hopefully it’s not a big deal

I know the question was not directed at me but I though I would kick off the feedback chain...

1 - This is the only blue dial PP rep that I really like, not only because of the accurate representation but how the shades change ((blue/green/grey/black) depending on sunlight angle hitting the dial. Other than the 6 and 8 marker thickness and print quality seen under a scope, its really hard to find faults with this dial(looking at wrist distance)
2 - Overall build quality is inline with other rep, nothing stellar here. The bracelet feels very cheap and the clasp is in the wrong direction. The Moonphase dial is sunken (hard to unsee once you see it) but you get used to it. Case and bracelet polish is acceptable by rep standards.
3 - I love the crystal clarity. Makes the dial and hands stand out very well.
4- "Obvious" flaws is a relative question. The gen 5712 is still pretty rare in the wild. Unless you keep the gen and rep next to each other, 99% of the folks wouldn't be able to tell you the difference (the other 1% doesn't care). That said, the watch does have issues as mentioned above.

Overall a well made watch with some minor potential areas of improvement. I bought it really for the dial (takes the rep game to the next level)

The crystal is super clear and I’m not struggling with any issues regarding glare from the sun.

Mine obviously has a defect that I accepted whereby the hour marker at 6 o’clock is slightly tilted, it’s something that I can live with.

The bracelet is good in the clasp be strong. You could go as far to say that it isn’t as good as a 3KF or a PPF but its not noticeably lacking in quality.

Folks,

I'd like to say many thanks for the RL photos kindly posted by the lucky fellow forum members. Based exclusively on these pictures (ie. without comparing the rep with the gen) I've found the watch aesthethicaly quite right except for the protruding crown. I wonder if it can be fixed and I also wonder if the watch can be thinned.

legend has already thinned the case (he has posted pics before). Crown can also be fixed by modders. In real life, crown is not an issue at all. You can barely even see it protruding a bit more at wrist distance (that is the least of my problems with this watch)
