the stripes on the dial depend of the generation. It is true that on Boxed dial Buff is wrong, but on non Boxed dial, several kind of stripes size were existing...
Some of them here below....
Gen does have 2 different non box, however buff is like in between both gen thickness. Not as fat not as thin lol
The first batch buff box dial got it right , but they end up changing the plate.

This pic cant really tell the color, but the stripes are gen thickness and its by far the best rounded stripes instead if other dial sharp cuts.

This is the 1st batch vvs .

the 5711 is all in the dial color.. if you see a gen in real life you will understand that many of these dials offered by the modders/td (that probably never saw in their life a gen 5711) are completely wrong and you will see the difference from 2 meters of distance.. in my opinion the stripes are the last of the problems.

Thanks for your reply. So you are going all in with your mods, sounds promising!
So you decided to go with buff dial instead vvs dial or are you modding two watches one with buff dial and one with vvs dial?
Maybe you can send me a pm and name the dealer who is working with the modder.
I wanted vvs in the beginning; but the dial lume i got did not match the hand’s lume. The modder tried buff hands and vvs hands for me and none have matched the dial lume; so i decided to change. For now im getting one watch. I have seen one guy here making 5711 dials and i might consider it after I receive the watch.

I’ll pm you.

I spent some time with a parts seller for Pateks yesterday and saw a bunch of 5711 dials. The variation in gen is massive as well, so I don’t think a callout will happen based on the slightly different shades of blue we’re seeing on the currently available dials.

Folks,

One our TDs informed me that the currently available SW and VVS 5711 dials could be identical because they are produced by the same maker. Do you think it's true?

They do have the same markers which are thinner then buff same as gen. the new batch vvs does looks almost same as sw dial. Which is sad. The original vvs was great. Sw is over sunblast. Honestly i never seen a gen has such sunblast as all of these rep.

Swapped the hands and date in too. Just wanted to share the difference between Buff and stock 3KF (bottom row).

Buff dial (above in the picture) has the wrong color for a non boxed dial. These representing early dials should have a greenish tint.
The later gen ones 2019+ are darker blue like this on the picture. But this one should’ve been boxed logo for this color.

The color thing is very subjective to lighting and camera. The Buff V3 actually does have green tints in certain angles under certain lighting. See these three images (buff dial only, before hand and date install) under sunlight as I turned at an intersection (shame on me, I know). There is sufficient amounts of blue, green, and gray. Regardless of whether the Buff V1 or SW dials are more accurate, I'm happy with this one.

Only problem right now is that the Buff hand lume is much stronger than the dial's. The Buff hands match the dial in low light, but outdoors with the lume active, the 3KF hand lume is closer even though it skews more blue in color. Buff hand lume shines way bright green under sunlight.

The first thing I look at with any of these makers is the crown, and how far it sticks out. Should be almost flush, yet I’ve seen many where it protrudes so far past the CG’s that it’s laughable. 3KF, to me and impo, is closest to gen….as far as crown goes.
The hue of the dial is much less noticeable to me for some reason. Other dial imperfections, imo you would have to have a gen next to it, but it’s not like you see these in the wild every day anyway! 🤷🏻‍♂️
