Buff hands down... ;-)
Bro I believe thats a new SW dial vs buff instead of vvs. Vvs color is better and darker vs sw. and the base of the dial plate is different from all 3 factory. Unfortunately we cant source the first batch vvs anymore which is the best rep dial i ever seen.
the stripes on the dial depend of the generation. It is true that on Boxed dial Buff is wrong, but on non Boxed dial, several kind of stripes size were existing...Bro I believe thats a new SW dial vs buff instead of vvs. Vvs color is better and darker vs sw. and the base of the dial plate is different from all 3 factory. To all who like buff actually need to know the cons of it. The hour maker on buff is wrong , its too fat compare to gen. the dial lines are also too fat. Doesnt matter how good the color is once you know the difference you cant go back .
thank you for sharing the pictures.
Thanks for the Info.
That is VVS vs. BUFF. At least what the modder told me. I know it’s sold out but this is just a comparison of two “already-purchased” dials.Bro I believe thats a new SW dial vs buff instead of vvs. Vvs color is better and darker vs sw. and the base of the dial plate is different from all 3 factory. The picture i shared is vvs and buff. No sw dial there. The picture is directly from the modder who is in the process of modding my watches.thank you for sharing the pictures.
I'm a Patek newbie so I can't contribute an expert opinion, just a personal feeling.
I don't think the colors on either dial are gen like, but the buff dial seems at least close to being in a gen batch with Patek.
I found out during my research that the gradients at Patek also have different widths, so it seems to fit with Buff.
Buff dial:
Color not quite gen like but intense, the gradients appear rounded at the corner/ edges and a bit higher giving the dial more depth than swf. it has an intense dark blue color with a slightly green hue/ teal color in some lightning (which I like more and dont like very much the intense teal hue on a gen dial). sunburst is dementsprechend and not overdone like on some other rep dials but not as intense as on gen dialas.
I can't really see the edges of the markers in the photos. maybe those of the swf dial are better and more gen like.
swf:
color appears paler/ more faded and has no green/ teal hue at all imo.
dial gradients appear flatter and don't give the dial any depth.
the points of the minute indicators are neater/ better done than with Buff. buff minute points are partly wonky/ slightly smeared.
Sunburst is stronger than Buff. Seems between Buff and 3 KF.
I ordered a Buff dial, even if the color isn't gen like I personally like it better because of the intense blue color without the strong teal hue and because of the decent sunburst (just my personal point of view).
Seems there is a difference between V V S dials and SWF dials in terms of color.
As I understand , there is no more V V S dial, only SWF and SWF is not as gen like as V V S?
And by the way; both watches (in the pictures I shared) have buff date wheel and hands… it’s just the dial that are different.thank you for sharing the pictures.

I wouldn't say Buff is gen like, at least not on the finish of the stripes. Original are rounded on the edge, while buff are somehow "squared edge", but the buff "non-boxed" style seems to be correct from the stripes size point of view. Thanks for the Info.
So would you say the new buff v3 fits the early gen dials around 2007/2009 in relation to the stripes wide and thickness and rounded corners?
What is your opinion abaout the color? Does it fit as well the early 2007/2009 dials?
If so seems Buff reached a good match for a 2007/2009 gen dial in color and stripe design?!
Sorry my fault. So you are going vvs or are you torn between vvs and buff? what other mods are you going to do? which modder? The picture i shared is vvs and buff. No sw dial there. The picture is directly from the modder who is in the process of modding my watches.
Buff v1 or v3Is there any consensus which is the most gen like dial available at the moment (no matter if boxed or non boxed logo) and which was the best, even if it is no longer available?
I think we talk about personal preference here, i mean the recent dial available on the market are of a high level, there are all very good, it should come from personal preference of color ...Is there any consensus which is the most gen like dial available at the moment (no matter if boxed or non boxed logo) and which was the best, even if it is no longer available?
Im getting 3kf base, buff dial, hands, date wheel.. bezel reshaping, case and bracelet refinishing, crown recess mod, first end link mod, deep crystal, movement engraving.. basically all mods he can provide lol.. chinese modder. I have my trusted dealer communicating with the modder. My TD is listed on Repgeek but not rwi so not sure if it’s allowed to mention it here.
