Do you have a measure of the thickness ?
The gen is not that slim too with a GMT complication. I read it is something around 13.5mm but I may be wrong.

No not yet it’s about to be shipped to meDo you have a measure of the thickness ?

Great information.I feel the same way. VSF has only been using the "in-house" P.9000 clone movement for its Pams for years. It's a good, solid movement, but at 7.9mm (Gen) it's also quite thick. At 8mm, the Clone movement is very close to the Gen movement. It was also the correct movement for the older models (e.g. 312 or 389).
It was a little more problematic to use this clone for watches with the newer P.9010 movement, which is slightly thinner at 6mm. But the P.900 with its 4.2 mm is the latest example where the P.9000 clone, which is almost twice as thick, is no longer the right choice. Unfortunately, the P.900 has replaced the older P.900X movements in Panerai's newer models.
VSF only produces the P.9000 clone, which is only slightly modified.
To get the newer models right, however, you would need a P.900 clone. Developing this would be very expensive. The question is whether it's worth it. I would say: No!
With the thicker P.900 models (e.g. 1226 or 1288), the difference is not that great and they sell well even with the P.9000 clone. The market for the slimmer models (e.g. all Lumimor Dues) is rather small, so it's probably not worth the effort commercially. What's more, the watches are already on the market and would all have to be completely revised with a future P.900 clone.
I am therefore pessimistic.
I've also just ordered a 1404 from JTime after seeing this thread. I've been after a PAM for a while but couldn't find exactly what I wanted. The addition of the Quaranta lineup from VSF - especially in this colourway - ticks all the boxes for me. I'm not particularly fussy about the thickness being exactly the same as gen, as long as it isn't disproportionately thick.
Yeah, I love the little pop of colour with the red accents. Really sets the design off I think!
Did they send any pictures where the hour hand wasn’t covering the GMT? Just to make sure the GMT hand looks good.
From the site? Or was that direct via messaging? I can’t see it on the site and would like to grab oneI've also just ordered a 1404 from JTime after seeing this thread. Hi, I couldn't find it on any TD sites yet either...I dropped Li an email and he confirmed it was available and the price if I wanted to order one. If you drop your TD an email/whatsapp directly they should be able to source one for you. From the site? Or was that direct via messaging? I can’t see it on the site and would like to grab one
That is accurate to gen. Pretty sure it is supposed to look like the sail on the Luna Rossa racing boat.Looks good. Is that GMT hand supposed to be asymmetrical like that? Also, can you keep it stationary at 12 if you wanted?
You are right! It's a limited edition from 2022 in 1500 pcs Bettarini case and hand wound. Unfortunately has the P.6000 caliber so that the thickness in this one would be off I guess. But that is probably the first P.6000 watch from VSF so let's see what they pull off!I believe the Pam 1342 white dial Luna Rossa has a Bettarini case…I love the Pam 911 and that one has it also, very comfortable for a 44mm watch. My wrist is 6.5 inches but it fits very well
Perhaps I didn't quite catch the context, but PAM1342 in the bettarini case was made by HWF some time ago. HW models did not appear under the VSF brand, and in the bettarini case I remember, perhaps, only PAM088 and now, PAM1024, given that both are AW. And HW probably slightly adjusted its case since the first models, however, from what I have observed so far, they make one case for models with any movt., for gen, without taking into account the specifics of the differences. You are right!
