DW is awful. Any other major flaws?

The f on the second line looks more like a 16800 dial text than a 16610. The dial looks good though.
The dates are a mess. The ink looks uneven.

Overall it looks pretty good. What movement is in it? VR3135?

Hello, been lurking and looking to build a 16610 with gen parts and possibly gen movement later on. I was going to buy the 16610 ARF from jtime but wondering if its better to get the JF? Looks like those are the only two available right now as TCs are hard to find.

ARF is replacing JF, you won't find a JF exept on M2M sales. It's your best option right now. The other options are:
- BP 3135 16610 but the case isn't gen spec so it can be a problem if you want to superfranken it. Plus it ships with a SA3135 that is a crappy movement, worse than the SH the arf is shipping with
- Startime 3135 case. More expensive route but case is drilled. Why is it better ? Well, undrilled case were use at the end of the 16610 life and only shipped with "swiss made" dials. And swiss made dial are way more expensive than "swiss t<25" dials.

I began mine with a JF, but now the only remaining JF parts are midcase and bracelet links so it depends on what you are planning to do!

Thanks for your input! Theres also a few replacement cases on eBay.. priced at $450/650+ from user terse67. I wonder what these are? I was thinking gen dial/hands/crystal and maybe eventually gen 3135 if I can find one. But ARF seems pricey given you have to drill the case and the bad datewheel, at least it is 904L...

I can't find the case you speak of on ebay but i'd be carefull with ebay stuff. Most of the time overpriced and not that good.

Your cheapest option is ARF: You start with a decent case, a bezel assembly (not that good on mine but i read it improved on later JF LN), a bracelet (and from what i see in the pictures the clasp has improved since JF), and a movement (not that good but it will be fine during the time you wait for your gen one). Crown is decent too. And drilling the lugs cost me around 80€

The crystal also seems to be sitting slightly slanted. The chamfering on the lugs doesn't seem as aggressive as initially thought, though.

ARF really need to change their movement and dw and.... to listen the community for release a ultimate 16610.

Please Angus, help us to get a proper 5 digits puretime

True that. If this was on a 2836 I would have one on my wrist now. With a VR3135 maybe I could think about it. But with a SH3135? Most certainly not.

What about the built quality comparing to the 6 digits one? Is it as solid and nicely finished as their 116610?

It is well made actually. The clasp is good and the bracelet feels solid for a hollow link band. Case shape is good. Bezel is not quite right but is well executed and clicks nicely. Crystal and dw are the big let downs and need updating for sure. Dial and markers are pretty decent as are the hands. Dial font is very nice with a raised crisp appearance. Insert and pearl is not bad either. At least these things can be changed cheaper than ceramic versions.
Straight away this felt comfy and cemented my belief that the 16610 was the best Sub Rolex have ever made!
I’ll post some pics tomorrow.
