A pleasant surprise, came across this in m2m when I was wandering around so I bought it immediately.

It's mainly a Raffles material-based 1016 with NH38 inside, not those 100% clone with clone movement kind of thing but I love it when it is a commonly available movement inside the case. Plan to give it to my wife who loves Explorer very much.

Try to take a few links off from the bracelet but that thingy is a pain in the s. The screw is tiny and hard to unscrew. Looks like even if I take off all the extra links, wifey's wrist is still too small for it. May have to get a strap for her instead.

I have had to do this for Mel, very carefully you can cut through the centre of the outer bar of the first "not screwed" links and then use screwed link or clasp screw to connect to it just be aware that they widen as you get nearer the watch head, so can only really take the first one from each side without creating a step.

Once you've cut through, can remove the pieces with small pliers.
A Dremel with tiny metal cutting wheel works wonders (y)

Thank you for the suggestion. I think this is the only option I have if she wants to go with a bracelet.

A couple of parcels arrived today and it is Friday, which means a nice day!

First thing first, got a parcel from France from @Karbon74, I bought a 14060 from him last week: https://forum.replica-watch.info/threads/rolex-14060-custom-build-eu-only.10979878/

I must say, the guy has the talent for building vintage reps! Vintage reps are not those we used to see on RWI, nearly no one will ask if this is 100% superclone blah blah when it comes to vintage reps. This one comes with an NH38, so maintenance is not a problem. The one the Pikachu built is just exactly like a 90s sub which has been through many refurbishments over decades, a bit of wear and tear, with smooth lug corners. I couldn't express how much I love a vintage model like this, and the price is beyond reasonable - you don't need to spend big bucks on a vintage rep.

Another parcel came from Asia. I bought a modded PP 5711 from @TWM Concierge 1 some time ago, after almost 2 months of working by their watchmaker, I got it yesterday. Considering it is a full-watch modification, I would say they are pretty fast.

I started my interest in this early this year. After an initial talk with TWM, I put a hold on it due to my other projects. I reinitiated the talk in early April and after some discussion, we reached a deal within a week.

This is what the elements of this 5711:
3KF Base watch
SW Blue Dial
SW Hands
Buff DateWheel
Crown Recessed Mod
Watch Thinning Mod
Enhance definition and polish of case/bracelet bevels
Full movement servicing done with proper cleaning, greasing and regulation of parts
Waterproof and pressure test

The guy in TWM (Sorry I didn't get your name) is professional and communicative. I am a troublesome guy with many questions but he solves them one by one.

The quality of the work? I say they are quite good. Let's take a look (quite a few photos):

Last but not least, the German Customs are really good at doing their work. Even though TWM has done everything right to send me the watch in two batches, they can still spot them and ask me for €20 of import tax. Good job Hauptzollamt Frankfurt am Main! A bunch of government employees who really sing for the supper.

This sw dial looks really nice and has the dynamic color like gen. Is this the latest batch of sw? I am seeing different sw dials left and right. I know lighting plays a part but from what im seeing some are really dull grey, greenish blue and blue like yours.

I think this is the latest batch from SW.

The funny thing is, you mentioned grey, greenish blue and blue, I saw them all in mine. Seems like the PP dial is very sensitive to lighting especially white balance, my lighting varies from 2700k to 5500k and I can see all the different results. I can confirm that when wearing it on an overcast day, the dial does look greyish-blue, and more bluesy when the lighting gets warmer.

I hope the sw dial i ordered is same as yours. I currently have the buff v3 dial but im not happy about it being too grey and it isnt dynamic at all. I havnt seen a gen yet but from pics and vids i can see that they are very dynamic and really jumps colors depending on lighting. Congratulations on your watch. Its a great one, wear it with confidence.

I have talked to a few TDs and modders, Buff dial is not a choice, mainly because the colour is too artificial. SW is the right choice. Hope you get the best version of it.

It's about time to do another upgrade. This time, dial and hands only as I don't want another full service as of yet.

It is common sense that the gen 116500 dial is fairly overpriced, usually costing north of €3k, consider lucky if you can get it around 2.5k. I am hesitant to spend that amount on a dial, so I have started to search for a better custom dial for my rep. Recently, I came across JJ Dial which is famous for making customed dials of Daytona, Sub and some Date Day. They also have a few PP customed dials. I talked to them and asked if they could "custom-made" an 116500 black dial for me. Luckily, they told me they had one on hand, so I bought it together with a set of hands from them for the price of around €600.

Today, I got the express parcel from them (they are in Spain). I take a few photos, here we go:

IMHO, I think the dial is exceptional, they have done a fantastic job making that dial. If you see it in person, you will know it is a big difference from any stock dial from any of the rep factories. On another hand, the hands set I think it is of normal quality, nothing really stands out but definitely not bad.

Now, I have to decide if I change them by myself or send them to a watchmaker to do it for me. I have some experience of removing and setting hands on an NH 35 and 6497, but never on a Daytona. It's a bit risky...
