I have seen a few people make custom 18k gold ones for the smaller versions. I have to reach out and see if they can make one for the 41mm. If I can source a Gen one then Ill just buy a Gen one.

Yep. Impossible so far. The 20mm I have let pass for 4k. Average 5k for Gen. I heard 21mm around 8k from AD.

Man I'd just buy a 36mm solid gold DD and call it a day. You're gonna have more than that much in it anyway.

36mm too small IMO, and the look and feel of 18k gold is bar none. Im ok with the cost, just need to source the parts. I like projects. Buying something is easy, building something you know is unique makes it fun.

And are you sure your DD2 was made to gen spec.? I had a 41mm dj & dd before and they weren't to gen spec. They didn't take gen bezel or dial.

The bezel didnt pop in. PBdad is doing this build for me. He machined the watch and made the gen bezel fit. He will make everything fit as well

Here's what a Gen Bezel does. I think this is a must mod for any yellow gold DDII or DJII. Changes the whole watch. Hardly able to tell a difference IMO, especially if you can pull it off.

And I could buy the Gen if I wanted to, but the only reason why I am young and have some savings is because I don't blow it on everything I really want right now. I lost plenty on my 16613 loaded with gen parts, just like most people who build watches to see how good they can get them. I'd stop where you are and enjoy what you have, or you'll regret it later. Ditch the Volkswagon while your at it too.

Actually he can sell the gen bracelet for close to what he pays for it. He can sell the solid gold case he's gonna have built for scrap and get some of the cost back. And the gen bezel, gen dial, gen hands, and gen crystal should bring back most of what he paid.

I personally don't care if I get my money back or not. I don't intend on selling it, but if I do there is obviously a market for the used parts... If I expected everyone to agree with what I am doing then I wouldn't be different.
