why would you get called out? it looks stunning imo, wear in good health.

people who call you out aren't the most intelligent ones anyway.

Im not worried about it. I have a good mix, and I don't buy reps I can't actually afford. It's simply a hobby. Like I said, buying the gen is the easy part, building a good rep is just cool. IMO

Thanks for the kind words!

Yah. Wear what you like. I laugh when I read people say wear only what you can afford and pull off. If that were the case I would be wearing a Walmart watch. I don't care what people think. I wear whatever watch I like even if it were a rep of a five hundred grand watch. If I liked it I would buy the rep. Who cares what others think. Most people never notice a watch anyway and when they do its usually a compliment.

ditch the VW? Your a Ferrari or Lambo lover? What do you drive?

I personally don't care if I get my money back or not. I don't intend on selling it, but if I do there is obviously a market for the used parts... If I expected everyone to agree with what I am doing then I wouldn't be different.

Do as you please Dude. I was certain I'd never sell my 16613 either. As for cars, it's old school American muscle for me every time.

As for getting called out because of the car you drive, most people could really care less, one way or another...if spending all that money on a rep makes you happy, it's your money...enjoy it!

I will absolutely follow your progress on this :-D Just thought I'd throw in another thing to concider if you go for the solid gold aftermarket bracelet. The boring "button" that replace the crown will most likely bug the hell out of you. I might be way off, but if I remember correctly a Rolex all gold hidden clasp alone -will add quite a few grand to your project. Perhaps someone more updated could be more specific pricewise? That said, I'm cheering for you to finish this :) Best of luck!

That's very cool. Rudy40 and I were just talking about building one the other day. I'm very interested to see the outcome of this.

I love this project. Here's what you do. Go out and buy a gen Rolex DD II and then source yourself a ETA 2836 and have one of the modders swap out the gen movement for the 2836. Done!!

You will love it either way. I've been rockin my gen for about two weeks now. I have owned many gens over the years subs, Daytona , breitings omegas ect... and maybe one person a year noticed I was wearing a nice watch. I traded three high end gens for mine and somebody notices this Beauty daily. Make sure you go 18k because the color is substantial. I'm a watch smith / jeweler and gold looks the same until side by side so make sure you stick with solid 18k or you will blow the build. And worst case senecio you still have 18k gold at gold market value.
