bevel and polish case and bracelet edgesWhat mods will AMF do?
I don't think will work...the locations of the complications are different between the two movements....We’re going to try to fit the V1 dial in and moon disk from V1 as well.
Interesting post you made here - good to see someone trying to form a consensus in a solution oriented manner rather than picking down on a new release based solely on its flaws.6. Regarding the dial it could be nice to have a Buff dial instead of the stock PPF. Not because of the color, which is pretty gen like, but because it is a bit dull. It's not as lively as the gen dial. Also the markers are too angular, as the gen markers are slightly more rounded. But unfortunately no buff dial has been released so far.
That’s what I suspected as well but he wanted to see if it can be done. Second option is Gen dial and gen moon diskI don't think will work...the locations of the complications are different between the two movements.
Gen dial and moonphase disc are definitely the way to go...That’s what I suspected as well but he wanted to see if it can be done. Second option is Gen dial and gen moon disk
I agree, just soooo expensive.Gen dial and moonphase disc are definitely the way to go...

It is possible to have just the markers polished and replaced on the dial - spongebob performed this mod on a couple 5711.
The markers alone will give it much more luster - of course not color wise.
But I'm also curious on how Buff's progress on the 5712 dial develops.
Is there any true confirmation out there or just members repeating some facts from DMs?
I'll make sure to update this thread with what we do and how it goes.I guess someone has to be the Guinea pig. Sorry, jokes aside. It would be very surprising if it can be done. Doesn’t seem like it.
Hope the best for you. Fingers crossed. Thanks for keeping us updated.I'll make sure to update this thread with what we do and how it goes.
this in fact Makes an important difference...It is possible to have just the markers polished and replaced on the dial - spongebob performed this mod on a couple 5711.
Great notes. Dial definitely seems more sunk in with the PPF.Bezel analysis of the PPF 5712 V2 vs gen;
So there is a difference in the look of the bezel. The bezel is as deep as the gen, as can be seen below.
Gen to the left:

At angles they also appear to have similar thickness, gen above:

The difference seems to be the rounding of the chamfered edge:

The gen is more rounded. And that makes it look thinner at certain angles
![]()
Because it doesn't have a very visible edge between the two satinfinished parts.
A mod with more rounding of the satin finished part could do wonders for the bezel.
Yes, good point. Rehaut is deeper. Maybe the gen bezel is slightly flatter.Great notes. Dial definitely seems more sunk in with the PPF.
Do you think there is any way to have the dial look less sunken in?Yes, good point. Rehaut is deeper. Maybe the gen bezel is slightly flatter.
