These kits have been available in Aliexpress for 60€ish without the movement. For that kind of price they should have gen Swiss ETA2834-2. I put a gen ETA inside mine and I bought a gen dial and hands too. Haven’t put the gen dial yet. My movement’s date discs have a wrong font too, so it’s not totally accurate yet.

Got the gen from an auction site. It's a vintage one and not really for this model. Google "Raffles dials" (I don't know if linking a non TD is allowed).

Oh dude! why didn't you post it before? haha I was looking for a Tudor dial on ali or ebay but never found it
If I knew, I made it by myself. You took a case for a DJ 36 ?

It’s in pieces at the moment. I have to rebuild it. But i might have an old photo, I’ll look for one. The first build with the supplied dial had an obvious tell, the text was in two lines and was supposed to be in one row. Also my datediscs were white and they were supposed to be champagne. So I bought a new dial from Raffles, but after that I scored a gen vintage dial, but they’re not installed yet.

looks killer man. did u have to get the day disc and date disc separately as well? basically only the case set is from ALi, but everything else has been swapped out im guessing? any pics of how it originally came from ALi mate?

Well those hands are from AliE too. Day and date discs are from the Bulova movement.

It’s very confortable but as other have said you’re almost better off getting the Ali kit + Swiss ETA for less than the mks. But the convenience factor of ready to wear is also something to consider

in my opinion, you made a good choice.

i rather buy the MKS date-day over the aliexpress/ rafflesdial kit. The MKS dial, hands, date/day disc font, case, bezel, everything... is just better and nearly as nice as my gen date-day (76200)

Thx for sharing pics. I changed to a bb58 because Steve was so long to have a new exemplary. It was a bad choice: I don't like bb58 very much but too late. When I see your pics, I regret a little bit.
I made a lot of research about vintage tudor and rolex. I still hesitating on 4 options:

- vintage tudor date 34 mm, less than 200€ with riffle parts. Can really accurate if steel bracelet is avoid. The main cons is size: 34mm is really small

- Your choice. Nice watch for not so much money. No real cons but I think is lot of money for a watch I couldn't wear so much.

- Vintage Rolex DJ 36 mm: IMO raffles parts suck. You can source a Korean case for 500€. Made by hand and compatible with all rolex gen parts. You can made a really good for 1000€ with Korean case, gen dial, gen hands, gen crown and a 3135 clone movement. Main cons is of course the price.


I'm sure l'll hesitate for months
