mini review: AP ROO Panda Gen vs Rep side by side

Boy oh boy what a great rep

Also have Gen RG RC v rep.... apart from the weigh......its a blooody good rep.... even the colour !!!

about the panda, i do agree its look very good on the picture. gen vs rep almost unnoticeable.

however when i see them side by side in my naked eye (not photo, but see them in my hand), the main flaw is the SILVERY REHAUT, the camera can't get that kind of shine.

here.s the gen with good angle of light of the silvery rehaut "tachymeter", the rep silver is dull (not shine as gen).

other flaw: the date font, caseback, winding feel, red color at subdial at 12, etc.

I have to say..... that bearing in mind it´s a rep and it´s never going to be perfect.... it´s near close as I would ever expect it to be.......

I don´t know if it´s a new Ultimate version I have ... but it was purchased TD a week ago... and I get a real good shine off my rep......

I have the Gens... and I will happily wear the rep doubles i´ve bought with the same pride and confidence as my Gens.....

The movement.. well as you say...... it is whirry.... and pusher action cluncky.... but hey.. that doesn´t bother me at 2%of the cost of a my gen Panda and 1% of the cost of my RG... absolute bargain

BTW.... The picture you have used still has the plastic protective coating on... which may explain that (sorry but horrible) shine your picture has......
Honestly ......If my gen looked like that I think I would sell it and keep my rep.......

In real life ..... there´s not a lot visually to call between them

do you understand silvery rehaut? the "tachymeter" font is on the silvery rehaut.

I can confirm the silvery dial issue - my friend has a gen panda, and upon comparison of the dial, it was very clear that the rep dial was, although similar in color, very dull. The gen has a shine to it. Its an obvious tell, and although it may be nitpicking, it kind of bothers me.

The silvery dial thing is actually not the only issue - on the seconds dial, the gen's red numbers and markings are very strong, whereas on the rep they are quite faded.

Why?, because the gen glass is very reflective.

its very hard to get a clear angle most of the time.

i can't bloody tell my GEN panda what color is it from my arm distance, let alone other people.

I just love the aps, but How about the font size on the rehaut. Same problem as the breitling navitimer. Too small in general. Very easy tell to spot.

Sorry DreambreaX..... I think you are nitpicking.....I see them side by side every day..... looks wise... it is tough to call....... it´s not an easy spot.... certainly not a dead tell.....
The dial on the latest version rep that I have ....... that I was so worried about... is really not an issue... my Gen is also a brand new latest H series

For this post I just put them in sunlight... and still .... the silvery re haut is virtually indistinguishable... i´m no amateur btw... I´ve been collecting for 25 years

I honestly think sometimes people lose sight of the fact that it is a replica.....

I took a loop out after seeing the micro shots on another post... I found faults on the Gen dial... a scratch to be honest, not visible by eye.... and I bought form an AD no less

with regard to the movement... the pushers.. the steel feel.... really ... not being rude..... but you need to buy a gen...... then you will be really disappointed....if you can be dissapointed with this rep !!!!! by that I mean I sure as heck don´t see an extra $24k of value in my gen... maybe not even $4 if i´m honest.... but hey ho thats marketing for you...... I just had to have a few gens...... now with my reps.... Gens feel even more of a rip off !!!


again.... it´s a rep..... 2% of the price......what more can I say.... other than my rep...... is perfect....

i own some of the gen AP, and i have to say some rep have been very good.

yes we can tell which one which, but......please......you wont be able to tell it just like that easily after the rep being nicely mods....

yes, if you play with it and push the pusher, of course the a7750 will feel different. offcourse the the edge of the SS is feel a bit sharp and different to gen.

but in arm length, sorry mate, it will be very hard one.

But no stainless bracelet.. Gen came with ss bracelet I believe. and I am with you in anyone has a 42 Panda with SS bracelet I'd love to see it in m2m.

42 Panda came in Gen and Rep with a choice either HB strap or SS bracelet

Rep bracelets for the 42 rep (that fit correctly) are completely out of stock at the moment and no one knows when or if they will be made again

42 Panda is out of stock at the moment... there was a run last month but they sold out quite quick
