Just a follow up after a few days...

I did one more Sunnyscopa dial and with a prior sanding with a light sanding to achieve the "sunburst" effect. (I tried it on a blank Seiko dial the first time -- it looked amazing.) So, of the five dial prints left I had left, I used the worst one a blank dial with a proper 3135 date window... of course it came out great! I used the worst print I had!!!
From there, I decided to do a really precise job of applying a white base-coat for the lume. It took a very long while, and it's not perfect, but it's absolutely perfect to a naked eye.
I put a thin clear over the dial to protect the lume base. I assumed I would put another film transfer over it, as I used the worst one anyway.

Here's where it gets hazy. I looked at the successful ETA dial I did last week using Chrome's method, and the font portion had slightly smoothed itself.

The sunburst effect is magnificent, but the dial with Chrome's method has developed a 3D effect with warmth.

As best you can, please disregard the various lume tests or clear coatings, but I'm happy to say the Chrome method has shown up in the last week as chemicals have settled. Already for plotting on a hybrid! You be the judge. But in person, the depth has actually increased, and it's indistinguishable from being a negative or positive relief.
