I still can't believe this, its way to funny. I can't believe you actually went there and meet with this guy and what's even more funny is this guy expecting anyone to believe he's selling a gen watch. One look at the guy and you would know the watch is either fake or stolen without even seeing the watch, and even the most unknowing person would probably look at that watch and know its a fake, LOL, that guys a dumbass.

Lol I've been known to do more than a few ridiculous things in my time. Without video or personal witnesses, people think I'm quite the fibber. I don't even bother telling most of my stories anymore unless there's someone there to back me up.

And no, the guy never contacted me. I found out that he went to school with I girl I was friendly with a few years back (Lol I was freshly divorced and she was very literally half my age). She told me he was a bit of a loner but had a well off family and never worked a day in his life while she knew him. His half inch diameter "Diamond" stud earrings didn't make me pity him that much anyways. I rub shoulders with some of the poorest in the city fairly frequently.

You could have your own reality show Raj.

I had a local guy here trying everything in his power to sell me the Pepsi GMT he had on Kijiji (you may have seen it)

He told me every lie in the book and ended up saying it was his brother's and he was in a wheelchair and the watch was in Ireland. It was hilarious. We never met. He wanted money up front and then $1000 and then $700 and finally $100 to pay for a courier.

Hilarious.

Your sting was priceless. Did he initially know he was being filmed?

Ha! I never saw that Pepsi, but I was definitely thinking of you when I saw this ad. "If this watch is real, I gotta buy it before Wayne sees it!"

I don't think the kid knew I was video taping when we were sitting there. He seemed slightly out of it and was stressing about being beaten up at the time. When smashing the watch, I told him I was taping him so that he couldn't change his story later and claim I did the demolishing.

It's amazing that people try this crap. It's more amazing that people fall for it.

Couldn't agree more. Dishing out big bucks people should be a little cautious and do some homework.

Ok, I was wrong. It was another guy replying to me on another ad telling me the item was gone (not watch related).

This guy finally replied to me and was very excited about my email. I offered $3000, and he jumped at the chance. Yikes. I met up with him publicly at a Tim Hortons (coffee chain in Canada) and tried to videotape the whole thing. I apologize for my horribly bad video skills.

I won't bother describing anything here. I'll let you watch the vids.

Brilliant

I love the look on his face when you suggest the watch is destroyed!
He looks like he is going to cry...

If I hadn't seen the video there I no way I would believe you laid into him for that long. You are my hero Raji...

Why did he continue to sit there? If it is that bad of a rep why not just get up and walk out instead of sitting there taking a kicking to the point of being close to tears.

This is one of the best threads ever. The fact it come from people who loves reps is the best bit. We all wear reps, but we know what we bought and if we sell them on we sell them as reps at rep prices.

It's a shame the videos aren't edited into one long video. Thats the sort of stuff that goes viral.

Lol actually the video is still semi private. It's unlisted and only accessible by the direct link, no searches. I guess I could edit it together, but I have no desire to make this viral and embarrass the kid to the entire world, just the watch nerds.

glad you went there. Imagine how often this kindda deal happens, and mostly because the buyer gets stung by greed, thinking he got a special deal on a stolen or otherwise bad watch.
