one of the best vids I have seen in a while - you calmly, and effectively, crush him...poetry really.

the only way this could be topped is if the kid keeps on doing his scam, and you nail him again...now THAT would be entertainment. (not that this already isn't)

well done sir. *slow golf clap of respect*

Ok, I was wrong. It was another guy replying to me on another ad telling me the item was gone (not watch related).

This guy finally replied to me and was very excited about my email. I offered $3000, and he jumped at the chance. Yikes. I met up with him publicly at a Tim Hortons (coffee chain in Canada) and tried to videotape the whole thing. I apologize for my horribly bad video skills.

I won't bother describing anything here. I'll let you watch the vids.

EDIT: Changed non-working embedded videos into links.
EDIT2: Created youtube video as 1 video instead of 4. Hope it's in the right order. lol.

Good job LOL

I think you handled it perfectly. You put some real fear into his head by sitting him down and grilling him. With the watch in your hand he couldn't leave and had to just take it, and by repeatedly telling him how serious it was and mentioning the police he realized he was in trouble. And to break the watch right then and there was perfect too. Had you just taken it he would've been angry and maybe lost some of the lesson here. Sure, maybe it wouldn't be unfair to just take it since he tried to scam you but you did the right thing. We're all watch/rep guys here but hey at least it wasn't a very good rep anyway.

Honestly doesn't seem like a bad kid and I'll say he probably learned from this, so good to hear you bought him a coffee and treated him well after. Most people are good enough natured that they wouldn't attempt this, but some people are misguided and are capable of learning a lesson and it doesn't automatically make them a bad person -- and for him, he seemed very nervous and didn't come off as an ass or a douchebag (aside from being a scammer) when you could definitely have faced a worse type of character. Who knows for sure if he'll just go back out there and try it again, but you showed him the consequences of scamming and we can all hope it was a wake up call.

I hope this thread never dies. I remember seeing it a few months ago I had to watch it twice. I got just as much enjoyment out of watching it freshly today :)
