This is not a buff , it is a gen dial.
Yes, I thought of the old (v2) PF case: https://forum.replica-watch.info/threads/nautilus-comparison-pictures.10331855/Indeed...
it makes sense if you manage to get an old PF case.
It makes less sense to start with the latest PF version as it is almost the same case as the 3K as far as I have seen...
@2841 mentioned a custom dial. If so then can it be a PPFv4 one with modded markers? Or a new maker? This is not a buff , it is a gen dial.
Buff is doing good stuff, which imo is "as nice as" gen on the wrist, but in such size you can clearly see that this is not the same level of finish especially on the stripes....
Agree 100% with having the left ear reshaped. Stock 3kf comes way too curved compared to gens I’ve seen. Furthermore the crown guard and crown base area could do with a bit of work, if visual accuracy to gen is the ultimate goal along with the other mods mentioned.Looks spot on
Personally
-i would remove the movement mods, a service is sufficient
And i would choose from the choices
-ppf dial
-buff hands
I would add from mods
-fix the left ear
+1 to 2841 and Anonray, base must be 3kf
Well im very happy you think its gen
Thanks - impressive! Did you do any color modding as well?Well im very happy you think its genBut it is actually a PPF v4 with reshaped hourmakers, we also white gold plated them, and of course a re lume
Like i said multipal times, the best 5711 blue dial is the PPF v4 with some work done. Forget about the buff![]()
The colour of the PPF v4 already nearly perfectly matches that of the older generation 5711 dials imo. My only gripe is that the “box logo” paired with the PPF’s colour may be period incorrect based on the small sample size of gen dials I’ve seen but it’s really a small thing and even gens are made in different batches, so who is to say? Thanks - impressive! Did you do any color modding as well?
Haha, probably the PPF v4 dial color is more gen like but the Buff dial color appeals to me more.Well im very happy you think its genBut it is actually a PPF v4 with reshaped hourmakers, we also white gold plated them, and of course a re lume

Nothing, we got 3 PPF dials, (They all have slight variations in color/sunburst) and we picked the one that was closest to our gen reference. Same with the hourmakers. They are reshaped to look like current hourmakers on the boxed dial logo. (The older dials have more rounded hourmakers) Lume is also i bit lighter on the 2018 plus boxed dials, so that had to be matched as well. Thanks - impressive! Did you do any color modding as well?
Well that is two completely different aspectsHaha, probably the PPF v4 dial color is more gen like but the Buff dial color appeals to me more.
that is a fair point, that many are forgetting sometimes here ;-)Well that is two completely different aspectsIf you want accuracy go for the PPF, but at the end of the day, if the Buff dial puts a smile on your face, that's the one that belong in your watch

from your photo i had the feeling the stripes were rounded like on general which of course none of the rep have , but that might be the light which gave me that impression. anyway, it is a nice dial....Well im very happy you think its genBut it is actually a PPF v4 with reshaped hourmakers, we also white gold plated them, and of course a re lume

They are rounded like the gen. There are variations in the PPF dials as well, we found a very nice base in this specific dialfrom your photo i had the feeling the stripes were rounded like on general which of course none of the rep have , but that might be the light which gave me that impression. anyway, it is a nice dial....
interesting in fact if ppt is having this level of detail it makes sense to give it a try ...ii got a ppf some times ago and they were not rounded fact ...good find , congrats !!!They are rounded like the gen. Somebody should turn this into a product — or Buff should begin to create v4interesting in fact if ppt is having this level of detail it makes sense to give it a try ...ii got a ppf some times ago and they were not rounded fact ...good find , congrats !!!
