as ive mentioned, very good pieces come up to m2m from time to time, another way would be to do what some members like Bart Cordell does, to end up modding the watches yourself.

Vintage watches in rep terms are very tricky and there is no straight path - much trial and error and disappointments to get them to look right...

Just wanted to share an old Russian time piece that came with my 6542. I think it looks great as a daily beater...

i had a hard time trying to find any information on this, managed to find one article but with the stainless steel version - its surprisingly a very solid watch with solid movement. manual wind capability but the date change in a big PITA, no quick date set function

Hugop I am a sucker for the milsubs... it was honestly the first sub i really wanted to own. That eta and crown really is the icing on the cake.... perfectly aged hands, lume and crystal to boot!

It was for me as well
My first was a cheap spring bezel pcg version that I aged and wore for years
Actually looked very good.

This is obviously much better. The hands and dial are lumed and aged by me. The plexi is a gen T19 and the bezel I hand finished a Clark watch bezel to leave that hint of a flat inside edge we often see in the gen. The clark insert has an adrian pip and could stand some additional aging. The case is sanitary 5517 fixed lug from HR. All said not an inexpensive build at all.

Approaching 1k not including all the mod work.

it looks the part mate.... really nice work on the hands... i love the fact that you swapped an eta movement... you could wear it daily and it won't skip a beat!
