A couple questions for those familiar with the latest 3KF 5711:

It seems that the stock movement had printed text in the past, but is now fully engraved. If that's correct, is the engraving decent enough?

The plates can be modded with what may be better-engraved plates, such as from VSV. For those that have seen both - is the upgrade worth it? I know this question is subjective, but still...

Thanks
If you like regularly watching the movement of your watches then I'd say the upgrade is worthwhile, otherwise not.

Stock 3KF movements are still printed on, not engraved. Maybe you saw the ppf one with the miyota9015? Movement plates are 2-300$usd depending on factory
only the first batches had printed movements. Newer versions are laser engraved - not deep enough hence it may look printed.

the stock movement doesn't really look nice. Gen finish ist out of its league but vsv gets closer to it than 3KF.
The recently released "lite" modded movement for around 700 USD is a nice addition which does not hurt too much price wise.

Finish looks definitely better than 3KF. Rotor would benefit from gold plating though.

Giving the 3Kf green dial some love while on the river this past weekend.
;)

buff dial and hands, bionone date wheel, deep crystal.

Amazing shot, is this a green dial? Almost looks grey here... and I kinda like it.

Gosh these pictures are alluring. I want to get a 5711 blue or white from Z or 3K, but it's so confusing which is better... They both seem to have protruding crowns, and probably the Miyota is more reliable... Urgently waiting for updates from either factory.

Crown is pretty much perfect on 3KF (maybe you confuse with PPF which is known for a protruding crown?).

I had three 3KF and the clone movement is great. Runs perfectly, no issues. I even had it checked by Domi and he also says it’s a very good movement.

I thought they both had protruding crowns? What do you think are some of the noticeable tells for a 3K blue or white dial?
BTW, your comment just made me one step closer to pull the trigger on one...lol

Obvious tells are the thin date, wrong dial color, light patek wording , wrong lug shape and thick bezel.

Agree with you about most of the mentioned tells.
But what' s wrong with the lugs ?

for different periods different widths of the bevel on the lugs were common. (compare pre-PP-seal and Geneva-seal finishing approach)

That's one reason you'll find different profiles of the polished parts.

What could be Happyyeren's other concern is the step from the top down the curvature - it is nicely rounded on the gen and earlier reps without the sharp edge towards the end link.

PPF had the same issue back in the day - the first two batches were beautifully finished (leave the typical issues alone) and then it got worse with the harsh step resembling the Royal Oak case rather than the organic lines of the nautilus.

What you guys thinking about the white one 3kf
Looks good. The date font is a little thin. The case/polishing/crown width no one will notice unless comparing next to the gen, and even then probably not. The truth is that most people don't know what a Patek is, the few that do never held a Patek in-person, and the very few that held a Patek (or the .000001% that own one) don't spend time reading RWI to know that the angle of the polish on the lugs is imperfect.

In short, no one you run into in real life will distinguish this from a gen as long as your lifestyle affords such a timepiece, and you don't take it off to display the movement to someone proficient in high-end watches.

IMO, for the price the white 3KF delivers on most counts. I ordered the 3KF with an SWF green dial, but sometimes wish I would've just saved the time and money and ordered a stock white dial.
