these seem a bit thick in proportion vs the 31mm diameter. How do they compare to the gen model?

Call me boring or old fashioned but this or these are the styles I've been looking for for quite some time. IMHO elegant yet understated!

For comparison here's a video of a gen 178240, a 31 mm Rolex with Roman index. https://youtu.be/hbMLOn2BCe0

To my eyes there are several big differences between the gen and the VR rep shown in the video linked above. First, the gen oyster bracelet has polished center links and on the VR rep the links are all brushed. As noted by the poster above, the rehaut looks too deep as does the case. The gen is 10.4 mm thick and the VR rep is 12.5 per the QC pictures above. The font and the spacing of the words Oyster Perpetual is cramped and just looks off. I could go on, but why pick the watch to death.

I've have purchased about 6 of these 31 mm models made by BP and have to say some are great, almost bang on with great movements and some are not - funky cyclops, cheap movements, etc. I was really hoping for a step up in ladies Rolex reps, but at this point I don't think we've found it with the VR.

These are good comments. I’m wondering if the existing VR could be brushed/slimmed a bit.

Thank you @TinaTime for the insightful feedback. Of the 6 VR watches you purchased is there 1 or 2 that you would recommend?

Well, they haven’t arrived yet so I cannot really do so! I generally do like their very thin pave bezel which is quite true dimension-wise to gen and keeps it discrete. Then a simple Dial is great. I have to say regarding Tina’s BP comments that I have 4 and am really not happy with any of them. From date wheel to bad Dial colors relative to gen to lack of contemporary options, I’m just not going to buy another one ever. I went back and checked and I paid on average $350. I got an estimate of $60 to shave down the case to address the rehaut without interfering with the engraved Rolex logo, which I may do if the watch bothers me when it arrives. All in that would put the cost of the watch at $320. I think they do an excellent job of replicating the Roman numeral Dial which BP does not do well in my opinion, and I generally like Roman numerals more than other faces, but it’s totally your call and a personal decision.

Id say start with this basic: https://vimeo.com/241462486/c3e8b6835b and then look at the catalogue I included above and consider two tone and bezel options. @TinaTime decent advice?

Here is the diamond pave from VR (ignore the baby blue Dial). I think it’s hard to be called out for such small clean pave work:

(Gen for reference).

Lastly, you can mix and match every combination you see. Any Dial any metal color any bezel. I did that.

You can request all of those combinations from VR. 31mm is the only size. You may want to spend the $60 and slim the watch. All in still less than BP and the Dial choices are more contemporary and the colors are just better. M6 is another factory that Tim has had success with in smaller sizes.

For reference, here is a 28mm M6 that Tim showed me. I haven’t studied this one Per se in great detail but just throwing it out there:

Thanks for the advice. Will look to email Tim this weekend and see what magic can be worked!

Look forward to seeing your watch when you get it.

What is wrong with the latest BP version? Wild y'all say they are the best out so far? It doesn't seem anyone had their hands on the VR ones yet.

5 days. Per tracking. Unlike with men’s there is no one BP. They’re all over the place and very inconsistent. I’ll post some photos. They make me sad.

I want a more simple version like this.

Are the BP inconsistencies with the fancier versions or is it the basics like shape case movement dw etc.View attachment 94588

Date wheel is very unreliable. But if you want a white face with steel in 31mm that's prob fine
