JF 21J Frozen Chrono Daytonas

Just got official word, no surprise here, JF did not freeze the 9 and 3 sub dials. They move from day to day. At least we can zero them with the pushers. Next time I wish TDs would include a pic on their site showing this so we know exactly what were buying, instead of being surprised with the QCs pics after we've paid.

Your watches look good! All the hour markers look straight too! I hope mine from Sead looks as good as yours!

To your questions about the QC ... what I posted are from my order from Sead.
He is a great dealer, but he can not make miracles.
From what I seem to see these watches have poor sel ; and on the dial, in particular at 6 o'clock position, the index are croocked.

Wow 12.81mm ! Almost 13mm! In time states that these JF are 11.5mm? Must be without the crystal?

Thanks for posting this sample starman as first hand experience.
Putting it mildly I´m shocked with the qc.
Marker at 2 is not centered
Marker at 3 is tilted
Marker at 6 is tilted
Subdial at 3 has a strange deformation at the 10 mark;
Sel-fit, at least the one at the lower left is not really great;

I´m ok with the 23j movement; I´m ok with the price; I´m not ok at all with the price - if JF can´t get these basics on qc right: there is enough profit margin to have this right, it requires a loupe, pliers and 5 to 15 minutes more time on first assembly.
If one of the first is already like this, sorry but it does not forebode well for the whole batch. The pic is big and overblown and still those markers will be noticeable with the naked eye. I really don´t care if some minor aspects like the length of the pusher or the height of the crystal is 1 mm different from the gen but I need the rep to be consistent in itself. Hopefully this sample is just an exception and the majority will look right. The move itself of presenting us with an improved and thinner Daytona is ok, the subdials at 3 and 9 not being frozen seems like an unnecessary downer, this qc being another. Let´s wait....

I find it hard to believe that the subdials are truly deformed and that it is not just a trick of light reflecting off the chrome edge around the white dial and the crystal. The qc pics m5 posted appear to have the same problem with the subdials on the white dial and not on the black.

As for the markers it is also hard to tell. The gen pics appear to have a crooked marker at 6 as Watchguy noted. I am sure the gen isn't crooked and it likely just appears so based on the angle the pic was taken.

I asked for another set of pics right after getting these to make sure the sub dials do indeed reset properly. I will let you know how they look though I am a bit reluctant to post them....

The majority of this forum has their mentality all wrong. It's the wearer of the watch that makes it "believable" not the minute details of the watch itself. The game we are playing is to not have your watch questioned in the first place. Just my 2 cents

Yes this! I spent a lot of money building a 4030 franken. I can tell you one thing, certain gen parts are no great shakes, especially for the price. The bracelet construction was my biggest gripe, and want to talk about end link gap, take a look at some gen watches with the stamped end links. I could have bought 3 of these for the price of the bracelet alone... And I got a great deal on the bracelet.

And you are right. Don't wear the rolex unless you WEAR the rolex.

Of course with so many fakes out there most people will probably not think it's real anyway...

lol sorry guys, but 300$ for calendar Subdials a la Canal Street is ridiculous. I remember 6 or 7 years ago Honpo and other Dealers had these with Frozen Subs for 150$.

Daytonas for 10$ in China are not much different in terms of build quality. For an extra 290$ the least I'd expect are frozen subs. Come on! You might as well put a Quartz in there.

This is a comparison made by Ryan (intime) with a daytona 21j frozen (this one is the SAME model of Nembo). The pics speak for themselves ... are two different watch... the JF is much better IMHO and you can not compare to Nembo... However happy new year [emoji4]

actually, it took abit of work getting the SEL to fit like how u see in the pics. had to look for thicker springbars so the bracelet end doesnt move around in the lugs. &also, this piece has a lug thats a tad out of shape. its just the angle that makes it look better.

in time, the 16520 might be done similarly. i'm hoping JF releases as many variants of the daytonas as they have with the 7750s.
