Well gents, long-awaited : a HQ 21J Frozen Chrono Daytona ! By JF, so quality must be top notch.
Correct thickness, and no issues with the movement !

Sure looks better than my Nembo's daytonas (I have 3), but quite steep at 298$ I find... But this is your definitive answer if you're looking for an accurate, bomb-proof daytona, and are willing to accept a non-functioning chrono !

the best thing with the 21j option is the midcase is THIN LIKE THE GEN!!

that is one thing the 7750 watches can NEVER achieve ! even if you have a bullet proof modded jewel added graphite treatment blah blah ETC ETC... remove the rotor and put a thinner case back ?

IT will always have the thick mid case thats a deal breaker for me ! when you see and handle a gen 116520 you will understand what a BIG flaw that is

I don't know what is worse non working chronos or a quartz automatic? I'd say a quartz automatic just because the chrono is rarely used. I know I've had girls ask me why the second hand is stuck on my Daytona, and then I explain the seconds @6. They still don't get it. So I start the chrono, show the second hand moving, explain the sub dials, and reset. Even then some still don't get it. Now if the chrono didn't work at all and the second stayed frozen on a Rolex, no thanks. It's like being in the sack and not having a rubber. Deal breaker.

Intime says it's a 23j. Because I've had 10 chronos and used the 2nd hand probably .001% of the time, this is an excellent solution.

I always disliked the super thick 7750 which is an obvious rep. I have never had anyone request I operate the 2nd hand on any watch so I would feel safe saying its not working if asked. ;-)

It's more expensive than the a7750s lol. I never thought I'll see the day where Daytonas cost as much as the old noob APs. I'll stick to the nembo Daytona.

I have the new JF ice blue with Vac for a full movement overhaul to ensure smooth, lasting operation. I'll stick with that, especially because my wrist structure completely hides the thicker caseback.
