All my Local ADs carry all fat AP logo. Visited my friend & he explained that AP shifts its thin logo to a fatty one. Both are correct just that thin logo is the earlier logo design.

Now this is weird.

The pics by OP in Gen vs JF thread show fat logo But with dial-showing space in between A and P. Go figure...

Double checked all photos from ADs over few months. Def no space between the letters that shows the dial. Solid gold or steel between the letters, depending. Across various 15400 models.

^just goes to show that there are various gen variants. We obsess over dial colour, tapp size, font spacing etc but in reality there is no clear definition of what gen should or should not look like.

Apart from the crappy minute markers and poor "Swiss Made" printing, I think all other "differences" on the JF dial could very well be gen variations (as far as anybody is concerned).

^ yeah, seems like it. After scanning all the pics, there are definitely more than 2 distinct logo types. And if one looks at the typography (right downward stroke of fat logo A), even more.

They just need to fix the damn minute marker print and the "swiss made" print and we have a winner. I'm never selling my V1 white dial because the print on them were f**kin awesome.

I want a blue dial now though and have been waiting ages for them to fix this. I should have never sold my V1 black dial. Regret it now.

Yea i know - but i ordered this watch for a friend direct from prof before. I love how it looks with the 2xar. I know the stock crystals are really good as is, but something about how the dial pops without it makes me really like it. Also i may be putting this on a custom croc/gator strap so the bracelet may be short term.

Dial is not supposed to be visible on a 15400. I am not aware of any classic AP model that has an open space between A and P. Perhaps some offshores or Chronos...

I'm pretty sure the H ref of the 15400 do.

Damn wondering when they changed that.
Do you have more pics of that dial?
If they keep making those small changes it will be so confusing and tough to spot replica of 15400 Royal Oak.

I'm wondering how it would look on 15400 black dial - perhaps too much contrast m.

All JF needs to do is just use date wheel they are have on white dial
