Just received mine. Looks fantastic. Do you guys recommend any basic tuning on this model? Lube the rotor at least? Won't be hitting water so I'm not planning on treating the gasket.

Since these don't come around often on the sales threads, where do you guys recommend picking them up front? I've been eyeing the ones from Hontwatch but I'd like your opinions.

It's the angle. You can't take a perfectly straight photo through a convex piece of glass. Mine looks the same way... it's not 100% because it's not made in Switzerland.

Shield cut-out and position is spot on for the first time since I've got my first QC's of this watch.
flaws:
-misaligned 12'o'clock marking
-slightly tilted sub dial (after drawing the lines in Photoshop I found this issue as a visible and noticeable flaw)
-questionable red colour fill on second hand (confirmed after examine closely on 2 other QC pictures)
-confirmed crocked 9 o'clock marking.
-slightly high postion of the data wheel (well known issue on ZF's reps)

I honestly think that you should be a quality controller in Schaffhausen..... you should spend some time in an AD and check pictures of gens as well, as these are "issues" on gen IWC-s as well. Minor inconsistencies make a personally appealing watch, to me ;)

And we're talking about replicas, worth 5% of the original price.... just my 2 cents off course :)

^^ It was just a matter of time to see this comment, again.
All I have to say is this...
I wish I could have a copy with accuracy represented by merowinger 's watch and few more users. This watch has some flaws I can live with, 12 o'clock crooked marker I'd refuse 24/7.
Thank You and I appreciate your opinion. all of you.

I agree 12 o clock seems very disaligned but 3d dial can be hard to judge. just make sure to see other angles.

Just tell me how on earth do you judge these markers from dealer pictures, not taken straight on?

And these are 3d dials as mentioned........ you just simply cannot judge from a picture.

I just wonder which TD is patient enough with you, I might as well use him as I tend to be very demanding sometimes as well :)

few pages ago in this thread I reported exact same issue and I found users to understand the problem, now is different, I don't get it.
as mentioned above, I examined carefully all the pictures ( 10 ) provided by TD. my conclusion above.
I'm not posting this because I have a plenty of questions to you about the actual shape and condition of the watch. you won't find any question mark over there :)
probably I'm too picky about such things but still we are sharing our experience with the others, some of us will find this post informative, some probably not.

but on the other hand, I'm not TD's worst nightmare f/e just recently I accepted instantly the chrono petit prince even with massively flawed case back, still I'm waiting for 3878 and BP PP to come. BP PP is out of stock for another 2 weeks approx.
