Wow my friend... you've gone quite a lot forward since last time we spoke here about 16800 cases. People like you make the world a better place. Thank you for sharing.

Honestly, with such small numerals/letters, no one is going to really be able to discern the difference between pantograph or CNC engraving without a loupe, so if you've got a good source for CNC engraving, you're probably fine. For me, I just think this is cool and I'm a nerd for old analog technology and devices, and this is a fun thing to mess with. If I can offer something to a forum that's been great to me, so much the better.

First attempt on an actual watch. Starting with a bigger font to attempt an MN caseback. Guinea pig watch obviously wouldn't have this marking, but I need to practice!

Quick update for those following:
Most of the engraving I've been doing as practice I've been using tungsten carbide tips. They're sharp and they scribe stainless steel well. Yesterday I experimented with a diamond tipped graver. I really liked the result. I now have 4 more diamond gravers on the way in the mail with various tip geometries. Hoping to get this dialed-in!

Maybe you have read it, but this is a great article related:

Thanks for this, I have read this! Helped me out with fonts, but also the 1675 website helped a ton.

This thread right here is a great example of why I love this forum. No half measures taken. Brilliant work, newest dude.

As an aside, given this was how case numbers were put on cases, does that mean people spent their entire day, every day, engraving cases? How tedious. I am sure if they saw your enthusiasm they would think you are insane. ;)

Haha, no doubt about it. I could see it being tedious if it's what you were doing all day. I definitely have had a lot of fun messing with the engraver (there are way too many things engraved in my house right now), but if it was my job, probably not so much.
