Well, it s just too funny to left it unsaid. Yes, i was part of the ATLAS team when discovering the Higgs and yes, we have had to repeat basically the same experiment for ten years to find it.

Ah, I think I see the problem here so I will try to explain one last time in words our pal may understand.

As the very name suggests, in theoretical physics one is trying to prove or disprove a theory, ie: something not proven to be fact. Therefore it makes good sense to keep trying. You get a null result so you make minor changes in the parameters of the experiment and fire the little particle of matter off around the doughnut once again. Now, the theory is an important one (possibly one of the most important ever in this case) so you keep trying for years and eventually poof, here's the Higgs Bothom and well deserved pats on the back all around are the order of the day. Back to the office and write each other up for (once again, well deserved) Nobel Prize nominations. That's how theoretical science works, you keep asking the same basic question albeit phrased slightly differently each time until you get an answer you like or die trying.

Real life however does not work this way. Real life deals in facts. If one asks a question whose answer can be stated as a fact it matters not a jot how many times one asks it if the person you are asking has a sound working knowledge of the subject the answer remains the same.

Now, I think we can safely assume that given the fact this is a watch board and the people who were replying do indeed have a sound knowledge of the subject (ie: replica watches), given that one of the was the moderator of the Omega section and several of the others highly respected Omega WIS that a sound working knowledge was present. Therefore given that the answer was stated as being a fact by said WIS it wasn't going to change regardless of how many times you asked it.

Omega replicas are not a theoretical entity, they are a physically demonstrable entity defined by facts. A previously unknown version is not going to pop into existence because of persistence and a set of equations on a chalk board that say it must be possible. Real life simply doesn't work that way.
