What is the symptom? The day and date won't change with the crown now? Does it change over by itself at midnight still?

Mods - sticky this and move it to the new member section to serve as a warning to all.

Crossbones - send it to 14060 or Katt and see what they can do. You'll get a much better watch back than you had before it broke.

I don't think Katt works on the 7750 unfortunately...

Agreed! 14060 and Katt are both awesome (I have used them both). As noted above though, Katt is not servicing 7750's.... yet.

Maybe someone should tell us what not to do before it gets all Sticky.

Im a newbie, what shouldnt a person do with a 7750 date adjustment?

Dont manually change the date between 10 and 2.

I understand this is only and issue on 7750 Day Date movements

Correct, actually more accurately, never set the date between 10pm and 2am, as this is when the mechanism (gears) go into motion to move the date wheel to the next date.

This isn't just an Asian 7750 problem, but also applies to ETA 7750 use.

I stay at 6:00 AM just to be safe. I killed a movt once also. Just as soon as I took it out of the box I changed the date at 11:30. It killed the movt. Movt was Miyota 8215.

Does it matter whether it's 6am or 6pm when I change the date? Does it have any impact? I read elsewhere that it's best to change at 6.30, not 6. Any bros can clarify?

Use 05:00h (am), not 17:00h (pm). This is because the date has just switched over, I was told.

1. Wind the watch
2. Pull the crown out to the time set position and advance the time forward past midnight to effect a day/date change. Continue advancing till the watch reads 6:30am
3. Push the crown back in to the date set position and set you date and day
4. Return the crown to the time set position and advance the hands to the correct time of day

This is safe practice on any movement with a date complication.

Any time before 10pm, and after 2am, will do. When out of that range, all the gears and mechanisms that could jam are out of play, making it perfectly safe to manually change the date.

What is this supposed to do ???

Well, if the quick-set date change is still working, good for you.

If it ain't working, your date should still flip over but you just lose the quick-set function.

Happened to me an a gen Carrera :/

14060 or 16610?

During the repair, see if your watchsmith can install the newer anti-jam day/date advancing wheels. Not even the gen ETA 7750 features these; only the newer A7750s have them. I have a small stockpile from dead movements.
