How would you build a 6542 Albino GMT-Master?

Received clark 25-116 this morning. It fit very well the case, retaining ring is tight and insert fit. Cyclop alignment is good too.
Happy !

Complete peanuts compared to the builds posted, but for those looking for a very cheap flavor, there's a Tiger Concept 6542 out there and it does have a white dial version -- I don't think it's been mentioned yet.
The case & movement might be useful for modding too.

That's pretty cool actually, and maybe good for a beater watch / daily wear while building a Rep 6542. :)

Problem with the Tiger concept case is for dials sized 29mm and the Rolex 6542 dial is 27.3mm so, the dial will not fit in this Tiger case unless you find a modified dial for that size. It would not work good as a base case for that reason.

I only know because I was looking for a good base case and could not find anything, since puretime ran out of theirs and said they will not be getting anymore.

Thanks for the list! Is there a reason to choose 1655 case instead of cartel 1675? I think cartel 1675 has correct gen spec dial size, too. And you get the Mercedes hands...

Not my work but I can help because I had made a parts list for this project, before the opportunity to buy the watch, based on this thread
https://rwg.cc/topic/174143-rolex-6542-gmt-build-list-and-advice/

Cartel 1655 is the best option for a cheap build.

Bezel and insert from eBay. Not available at the moment but I'm pretty sure it will be back in stock soon.

Raffles small GMT hand.

A mercedes hands set.

Cyclop 116. Don't know exactly what brand used on mine, but I thing it's a GS or sternkreuz.

Case thinned, CG shaved and lugs holes drilled.
Add 24-6020 tube and gen 24-600 crown.
Print a roulette date wheel overlay.
Et voilà...
A 650/700$ build ;)

I am curious now, that 1675 does seem like a closer match for the hands and the like. Any one know the answer here?

The lume of these dials is very fragile. The one @2 had already fallen during the expedition of this watch and I had refixed it as best as possible.

This morning, by manipulating the dial to stick feet and rebuild the watch, two others left partially. So I decided to remove everything and redo the lume. It's not as nice.

And I found a good print size and alignment for the roulette date wheel. Pics as soon as possible.

The black paint on the dial is also fairly fragile. My lume made of acrylic varnish seems to damage it.

Two comments on the datewheel,

1. The font is a little too big still. It fills the date window too much. See the pic of the gen below.

2. The paper is too bright white. It looks weird with the patina dial.

Beautiful build. I'm very jealous cause I really want one with a black dial.

Yes I know, I have not yet thought about how to age photo paper used for roulette.
About the size I think it's good.
