Since I'm not a gold Rolex guy I need some help. @QueTip Is this watch any good? Yaniv wants the best.

Soooo, basically the watch ain't bad. However there are several flaws amongst it. Some of which could be fixed. Some of which can not.

Let's start off: Get a gen dial or Noob flat blue. However last is still not perfect but yet a lot better than that 'sunburst' one.
Get a gen crown.
Get a gen insert.
Get a gen crystal.
Get a gen datedisc on that ETA. Maybe if there's a 2824 or SA version of that watch available, get this and throw in a modified Yuki w/ gen date disc and hands
Relume the dial and hands to match

The gold possibly fading out on you is something you can not fix unless you find a gen case and bracelet but I find that to be rather unlikely. You'd have to buy replacement parts with fading becoming an issue.


If that is too much work for you to do on a rep. I highly advise going for the R Factory model! With that thing on your wrist, not even a Rolex watch smith can bust you.

OK [MENTION=141706]Yaniv1992[/MENTION], I will add my 2 cents in. Get the BP TT that [MENTION=42313]Tucker[/MENTION] suggested, then pick up a gen crystal and have it installed. The crystal is the most obvious tell as no reps have a proper AR coating not the clarity of a gen crystal. Below are my before and after pics of my subc for your reference...

You shouldn't buy there, but if you want exact this watch, you can show the pictures your TD of choice.
About the watch, I think @smoke mentioned the SEL (solid end link) on this would be good and @Versaceboy54 had the non-diamond version also.
I stumbled over a thread lately where this particular watch was discussed.

If it's the best quality, I don't know and can't tell. You might also want to read many threads more and gather all your needed information.

Guys, thanks so much for all your feedback and suggestions to Yadiv. I'm also a NOOB and couldn't tolerate Yaniv1992' demeanor so THANK YOU Aquanatilus, Tucker and QueTip for tolerating his behavior and instilling your wisdom. I've been researching this exact same submariner style and I tookaway the best solution is a TD REP with gen part upgrades. I'll be pulling a trigger soon on the Submariner BP which has been referenced here. I'll keep you all updated on transaction details and photos when delivered. Thanks again everyone.
