After looking at this post, I realize the crappy watches is not trusty's fault, its the watch choice. They are ugly ones I would never buy, james cameron? spike lee? like what on earth? maybe thats why all these other customers are happy, they buy the good stuff. just maybe.

You done then? My purse is heavier than many others here, I'm sure you don't want me to swing that at you.

Seems like a quick hook, but I guess you guys don’t want Rep Envy to end up like The English Gentleman, fair enough.

Well beauty is in the eye of the beholder.. plus I like to have something different. Why have a plain black and white Panda Daytona like everyone else has when you can have this..
Granted I have a Panda Daytona also but its always nice to have something different. Like this..

Or sometimes this is not to everyone's liking, but I love it! I am sure that you have your favorites also. That's what makes this hobby great! :)

Does that Daytona with the orange hands have a quartz movement, sure looks like it as the sub dials scream fake.

Yeah well thats the problem, If you were selling watches, and there is a model that everybody wants and orders are coming in historically, like the submariner for example, and you wanna invest in making reps for sale, you would have a better projected revenue therefore you can put more money into your business and make the watches higher quality because they will sell, and you make more money... now if you gonna go make watches that people do not want, rarely sell, then how much effort you gonna put into that model? these are reps, buy the hottest models if you want any chance of quality, this is my opinion, I could be wrong but If I want some strange and different watch and expect quality, I would have to go with Gen.

Now tell me the truth, the problems you have with the reps you got, and you have said you spent big money so you better have plenty, which are the ones that are having problems? the models that are popular and lots of people like? or some strange watch that nobody else wanted?

Ok.. a little off topic but Ill unpack your idea with you. I absolutely don't disagree with you there.. your 1000% correct. As a business partner of mine once said, if you sell to the masses you will live with the classes, but if you sell to the classes, you will live with the masses. But to me the trouble is worth it for the individualism.

As example.. some time ago I purchased a classic Ferrari and had a ball restoring it over a few years. It was what I wanted as a kid and I absolutely love it, when it worked it was glorious however it was a complete pain in the azz from top to bottom. If you looked at it, something broke. Every service bill every 60 days or so for something or other always had a comma in it and finding parts was like looking for a unicorn at the end of a rainbow. BUT.. when I showed up to Cars & Coffee, there was not a soul with a car like mine. Could I have purchased a nice 360 Challenge or a 430 Scuderia that you didn't have to replace a part on it every week and didnt overheat in the summer? Sure.. but in my neighborhood there is always several of those rolling around. This 25 year old car got more love from the passers by and kids excitement than half of the fools did leaning up against their 6 figure price tagged exotics holding their Starbucks trying to look too cool for school. But I didnt care about that. I just loved what I had because it was different and what I wanted.

So is it with watches. But we all have our tastes. But you are completely accurate just the same with your statement!

Life is also about enjoying and giving value to what you like regardless of what others think or judge. When you earn it, you can do with it what you like and so it should be that way instead of forcing yourself to like things because it's popular or for image. It takes courage these days to be different. I think its nice to see watches like this after so long. It may not be the best reps to some, but its what it means to you that counts. That's priceless.

I would say give Puretime a try. They are quite professional and a larger business. Andrew has done good by me but I switched to Jtime as its much easier since they have whatsapp. All in all though the service is roughly the same when it comes to those problems you've had.

It really breaks my heart to type this but everyone should know that the trip from hero to zero is not a far fall with Trusty time. I have purchased MANY thousands of dollars in watches with Andrew in 2020. My first order in January 2021 included a top of the line Noob V10 Rolex DeepSea James Cameron as well as other watches. It was fantastic for about 3 days.
jdiNL2.jpg

After that time the click spring on the dive bezel lifted and the clicker bearings were starting to come out. It was something that was obviously not right. It was also something that could not be seen in the QC pics so I have no idea to if this is the way it was in the first place but who knows.
jdiR8E.jpg

I have had a great relationship with Andrew up to then so I knew that he would take care of me. Reached out immediately and we set up a repair order with someone here in the states with the assurances that we were going to replace the full case kit with a brand new bezel rather than a repair on this click spring. After about a month and a half and paying out of pocket for shipping both ways, it was back in my hands again. ONLY to have it have break the same way just a few days later. The amazing thing is I dont even use the dive bezel, a single turn was all it took to dislodge again and see the bearings on the brink of falling out.

jdif7n.jpg

This was definitely either a NOOB design flaw OR this was just the same bezel/case kit realigned. I again emailed Andrew looking for options and that is when the excuses began. First it was that NOOB didnt have any parts available.. then the summer 2021 raids that shut down Noob.. I suggested a swap for an identical Noob watch.. suggested swapping for the equilivant priced ARF watch.. suggested an ARF case kit and fitting my noob movement in it.. Suggested a refund and return of the Noob watch.. suggested a significant discount on the purchase of a new watch and just mothballing this one.. suggested suggested suggested and the answer on all fronts was no no no and a justification to why.

Just had another email go around on all options and the answer is still radio silence and excuses. I have not purchased one watch from him in 2021 since due to this and had to spend my watch addiction dollars elsewhere. But at this point I am heartbroken to say that unless he can come up with a solution in the next few days to end this year long endless circle around the campfire of excuses and turn this story above into a positive one, I will never spend another dollar with Trusty again.

I hope that he pulls something out at the last inning that is better than his latest offer for a $35 credit for selling me a defective $500+ watch.

Based on the other similar posts here it seems that it takes some bad press on all of the forums for Andrew to actually engage with working on a solution. :( But it is truly heartbreaking. I loved working with TT up to this point and always had the proverbial "I never thought that it would happen to me" attitude considering how much I have spent with him. I guess any customer no matter how big or small is replaceable.

I actually have a very similar story, the exact same problem with DSSD NOOB V10, bezel lifted and popped off. Making matters worse, the bracelet fell apart. Absolutely poor workmanship by NOOB. Andrew immediately responded to my email and agreed to repair at no cost. But shipping to China was a major pain in the ass. My watch was held in customs for more than 2 months over a “postal tax” due of ¥100, roughly $15 USD. I spent $100 in long distance fees trying to get it resolved with customs for the watch only to end up being returned to me.

After the shipping debacle, Andrew arranged to have my watch repairs by a CONUS-based watchmaker who did a complete overhaul—new case and bezel kit, calibrated the movement. Whole thing took roughly 6 months to get resolved but in the end the watch was 100%.

In my case, I was pleased with the outcome and with how Andrew handled the situation. Sure, I was pissed that it happened and took so long to get it back. But I’ve always felt like this is one of the assumed risks you take when buying reps. Ultimately made me lose faith in NOOB—that is, until I got my NOOB V4 Ceramic Daytona :)

Your absolutely correct. I have communicated with PT before and they have always responded and been helpful.

Kindly let me tell a clearer picture of the issue on my side.

Firstly, when we got the watch and QC for you, the watch was perfectly fine and confirmed OK before we got it shipped out for you.

When you received the watch, you said that there is a problem with the bezel, so I said that you can send it back to us to get it fixed, or get it fixed locally and gave you a contact to get it fixed.

You sent it to the watch guy and he fixed it in March 2021, but you emailed us again in late May saying that the issue happened again. Which the watch guy agreed to take it back to fix, but require parts for the watch. But as we know, Noob factory is closed, so there won't be any parts available.

I did try to order the ARF case kit for you, but factory doesn't release it to us, as they previously mentioned that they do not sell any parts or accessories at the moment. And when they do, they always take a very long time to release parts. So I advised that he can try GMF case kit, but we cannot guarantee that it will fit since they are different factories to begin with, and there has not been a reply regarding that.

I have also replied to your new email. Kindly get back to me there so that we can resolve this issue.

Thanks
Andrew
