Hi Polonus,
The guys at Austin Classic W&J are great. I've taken my AP Diver, Deep Bue DSSD, and now the 243j to them. They open them up, look at the movements, grease the seals, and pressure test them for me for free. Each time, they have been absolutely amazed by the quality of the cases, and in some cases (as with the AP Dive) the movements. They were previously a fully acredited Rolex service center, so they even have the $10K rolex pressure tester designed for the DSSD. They have been under new ownership for a while now and the new team is rep friendly and will do work on them, and while they're not cheap, they're reasonable. They are true watch geeks. When I took my DSSD Blue in for pressure testing, just for grins they took the gen DSSD they had in house and opened both up side by side and did some comparison of the components and we just amazed at the attention to detail there is on current high end reps. I told them that I belong to a couple of forums and that we try to keep the hobby honest and low key and do a good job of policing ourselves and do what we can to keep sellers on ebay and elswhere from selling reps as gens, and that many of us collect both. A couple of he guys are considering buying reps just to have something to knock around in that they don't have to worry about scratching, or damaging. It's really cool to get to go behind the counter, and just hang out and talk watches. I've got two movements on order from Toro, and when they come in my v2 noop PAM 029b is getting a new movement as is my noob CrPO. Really great bunch of guys. I haven't asked, but I'm assuming that if anyone needs to buy gen parts for modding, ect. they'd be able to get them. If anyone ever has a specific request, let me know and I'll run it by them.
