I have no idea what to look for in a purse.... zero

Me either. But judging from the picture you posted, the ones I see being sold in the infamous replica marketplace here are of nicer quality, in general. They even put a lighter near the bag to show off the quality of the material (apparently fake leather will burn easily, real leather will not). Of course the ones which look like that can be found as well.

It's all about the experience. I envy you @RollerGuy . Last time I did anything like this was 30 years ago...cruise to Mexico. On shore leave I got it into my head I wanted a switchblade. Instead of a nice lunch and shopping in Puerto Vallarta I made the Wife jump in a cab with me on my quest. The language barrier was hilarious- I kept saying "knife" and making switchblade motions to the cabbie, at one point I kid you not he pulled a machete out from under the seat and said "gusta esto?" After finally getting him to understand what I was after, he drove to a flea market area, gestured me to follow him, we got out and walked (leaving the Wife in the cab) and found a vendor selling cheapo switchblades...which gratified me to no end. My Wife of course took a very dim view of all this at the time...but years later we still talk/laugh about it. Great memory!

Wow. Been to Mexico for work a lot of times and I'm a native Spanish speaker so I kinda feel comfortable there, but jumping in a cab and make gestures like I'm going to stab the cabbie is something I wouldn't dare to do, haha!

Anyway, these are the kind of stories you treasure for a long time indeed. I don't think it's about the money, it just feels a bit more "complete" if on top.of that you can get a good deal on the watch but that's secondary. The principal objective here is the adventure. Congratulations @RollerGuy, you have a very nice story to tell! (And a nice sub btw).

Love it.

I came out of one of those markets with some cheapo "Benchmade Stryker" reps that actually weren't crap!

They've lasted through a lot of abuse these last ten years... but I did snap a blade on one of them in a "hold my beer and watch this" moment.

Ok, bangkok sucked. Cops clamped down on most reps.
Some people offering reps at new prices. I think to pacify law enforcement. All I saw was junk. Only one guy wanted to talk about NOOB stuff.

Guangzhou for the win!

I'm back in SFO with a great looking wrist!

I've seen better rep Louis Vuitton Alma bags here in the Philippines.
For top replica leather goods, go to Baiyun. It's near the watch markets. You'll be approached by middlemen who will take you to the upper levels. That's where you'll find the good stuff. [emoji57]

Used to be like that at Canal Street in NYC.
My daughter and I had quite an adventure climbing up a hidden staircase one time years ago in pursuit of a hand bag.
