I definitely see the extra spacing and agree that's unsatisfactory. That's just bad printing that should be a batch issue. If that's a newer rep, it merits us asking to see some more days, especially THURSDAY. GMF had a fiasco a year or so ago where their daywheels were printed backward and "advanced" to yesterday.

I've had 5 or 6 of these BP/GMF DD's and have never seen the issue you pictured above before. It's definitely a dealbreaker for me, though if spending money on gen parts (crystal, bezel, plating, etc.) I would absolutely try to source a gen daywheel (and datewheel) . If these will take a gen dial it stands to reason a gen daywheel will line up even with the rep dial.
Weird. I've had 2 of these BP DDs and have seen so many get posted for sell. And they all have the day wheel issues. It seems like the 36mm DD reps have better placement, alignment, and font crispiness.

Here's a 36mm GMF with almost close to gen like day font and placement.

If there was someone willing to sell an ultimate DD build with a gen day wheel (fixing the alignment and font crispiness issue), and replated in gold on these new tungsten models. My money would be theirs! How much do you think it'll cost in total? Or how much have you seen gen day wheels go for?

my fav rep reviewer on bilibili, one thing he pointed out is that the weight was added on the links that can be removed. So if GM chose to use all weighted links for the whole bracelet, it is very possible to make this watch over 200g
The reason why they chose not to do so is the cost of material and crafting. Tungsten alloy is even harder than steel.

Woah no way! I wonder if you could then buy lots of extra links and replace the ones that don't have tungsten in them?

So in many cases, if your wrist size is anywhere from 6 - 6.5 inches you may end up removing most of the tungsten links during resizing making the whole Tungsten thing almost a moot point ?

platinum is also heavier than gold so you need even more tungsten to match the plat models

Did anyone already tell the weight of a gen platinum DD?
Here it is:
around 250g ... well, well, we need more tungsten

PS: Yep, that is a kitchen mixer 😅 ... so question is: will the weight increase or decrease, if you switch the mixer on?:ROFLMAO:

Yea, that's not great. With a 6.5" wrist, I don't know how much weight the links are going to shed.

I'll weight it out sized once I receive it, but I'm thinking I might have to wait for a full tungsten bracelet.

BP/GMF is not generous with links. I almost always need an extra link for my 7.25" wrist.

36mm DD - 9 removable links
40mm DD - 8 removable links

The added tungsten weight was previously reported as 1.5g more per link so this would mean a 12g or 13.5g reduction from the 40g total extra weight if all the removable links were taken off.

I really think that someone who needs to take off a lot of links wouldn't miss that amount of weight as the extra 40g is quite noticeable.

BP daywheels used to have serif fonts until recently. I've seen some older gen daywheels with serif fonts too - rep manufacturers do usually try to match a gen or a pic of a gen that they've acquired. These BP serif font daywheels were on both 36 and 40mm BP DDs. BP changed to non serif daywheel fonts a year or so ago.

I always liked the serif font lettering but then I am much more accepting of some deviations from gen than most. I won't be swapping out any of my serif font daywheels on DD's I still have.

Here are some various pics of DDs I've had. None have exhibited any irregular spacing or alignment issues.

I think plating runs around $300, there are several supporting vendors on the forum that do quality plating work.

Not sure how much a new gen daywheel might run. I've seen used ones for $175 ‐ $200. Ofc it needs to match the movement model.

Some here for cost approximations. Fierygems on Ebay has never let me down for used gen parts, I've bought 2 gen datewheels from them that were in near perfect condition.

WOW not bad for the gen dd wheels! Would they fit into the rep movements? In the second photo the R and S looks kind of off lol. But overall they are all pretty solid.

Those daywheels at Fierygems are for a 3055 movement, which was only ever used in a 36mm DD. They wouldn't work even in a rep 36mm model because the days are printed in reverse order.

The DD II (41mm) and older 6 digit 36mm models used a 3155, while the DD40 and newer 6 digit 36mm models use a 3255. I can't say firsthand but I think either of these movement daywheels would fit the rep dial window if used as an overlay.

But, like the two different size datewheels in a Sub 3235 and DJ41 3235, you can't just buy any 3155/3255 daywheel because there would be two versions of each, one for 36mm models and a larger diameter one for 40/41mm models.

36mm vs 40mm daywheel diameter comparison below. Note the greater space above the dial coronet on the 40mm.

I would buy a 3155 or 3255 daywheel specifically for the size DD rep you have and do a trial fit. Some vendors have good return policies. Fierygems gives full refund including shipping both ways. I recently returned a ~$200 used gen part I no longer needed.

which TD are you using? I'm using Steve with theonewatch and also waiting 30+ days with no QC yet.
My TD is PT!
They are clearly out of stock and what we will be seeing is a new batch once QCs are in. Hopefully equally good as the first.
I will be requesting my TD to weigh the watch to check if they still contain the tungsten.

Source? I mean other than that's the obvious next move since those models are extremely popular and if you own a W-Cu capable machine shop in china, that would be a way to sell a LOT of cases and bracelets.
