I have a gen RG bezel coming for my tungsten I can confirm rep bezels are 5g and gens are 10g.

Datewheel and Gen bezel should make a nice difference for sure. Where did you get the bezel from? Are you gonna go gen crystal too?

Yes gen crystal as well as….a gen dial

According to PT the tungsteins are now OOS indefinitely. Irritating as I have a bracelet in order and two x watches that are too small for my wrist. I must cannibalize , resize the bracelets, each time I wear them.

There are rumors that Shanghai Movement factory has developed a 3255 Clone and as usual price talking takes time.
So it may be that no factory wants to build 2836 watches cause they want the new movement. i dont know. if you dont understand, look it at "its pointless"

What I’m saying is I don’t see much of a point in a clone movement for these watches beyond making a franken. 2836 functions great, is easily serviceable/replaceable, and the casebacks are closed.

I had one and they are very too heavy. The bracelets on them are still light and flimsy and pale in comparison to the weight and feel of gen (bracelet specifically). I’m hoping they can actually make the bracelet out of tungsten to balance the weight and use stronger pins to eliminate the flimsy feel. This is a movement in the right direction, but hopeful for an updated bracelet at some point.

Ah did get you wrong. Well in that case it wiuld be same argument for daydates, datejusts and lot of other watches with 3 hands and a date. Why a rolex clone? Its smoother to wind, dateflip is nicer, time setting direction is correct, lot of points for me to choose a clone movement

I absolutely agree. I know that nobody can see though my caseback, but for me (an engineer) it’s important that the movement is a clone. I don’t know why but I have a very strong preference for clone movements.

And if there are rumors of a vr3255 from Shanghai movement factory, we can all dream of a Dandong 3255 based on the vs3235 movement… after all we did just get the 3285 versions of these movements from both Shanghai and Dandong.

Interesting. AFAIK time setting direction actually is the same on 2836 vs 3255, and 2836 already has a great, instant date change. There may be other points of difference, however, that I'm simply not familiar with. Interested to see where this goes, if the rumor is true.

I'm not saying it might not be true, as I do not have a single clue if it's true, I'm just advising caution, before getting too excited about something, that might or might not exist.

It is good for the franken crowd! I can't wait to replace those poor font day discs that gmf/bp/jdf had half a decade to correct but still fail to do so hahaha.

Also, the 2836-2 doesn't function exactly like a gen 3255. Changing the days on the 2836-2 requires turning the crown 2 times/ 2 position to flip the day, whereas the gen is just 1 turn/ 1 leap.
