I think that Ginault is awesome man. There's also Steinhart, which one do you think is better?
Anyway, congrats!

Omg there is no comparison between this and a steinhart [emoji23] the build quality is just not there on a steiny. The only thing they have going for them is the Swiss ETA movement. Their case sizes are wrong with poor finishing, and the bracelet is not as good as Ginault either.
The bezel action is not as good and the dial/ date wheel font quality is sub par.
The Ginault is about one or two micro steps below a Rolex or Tudor in quality IMO.

Sorry I should clarify. By quality I mean build quality (fit and finish).
Obviously a Rolex will have better quality as far as price retention and notoriety

Thanks bud! And not a problem. When I started here I saw Steinhart and thought it was an amazing bargain. But I buy my watches used and for the price you could get a super rep.
Then came Ginault and it is another homage brand, but the build quality is better than reps and I enjoy the controversy behind the brand [emoji23]
I've only had it for 2 weeks but it's currently my favorite and daily wear. It's great because you get all the classic looks of a vintage sub, but it's cheap and robust enough that you can wear it daily as a tool watch and not worry about hurting a 12,000$ investment in a vintage Rolex sub.
I've taken mine golfing multiple times with no problems

Only 2 gens in my box now. One of them (the omega) has gone off for a sympathetic restoration. 20170203_110535.jpg 20170227_125034.jpg

Lol well I've owned both and maybe I'm still in my "honeymoon" phase with the Ginault but in my opinion the quality is much better.
All the reviews on YouTube say the same thing.
The difference is that for the retail price, the steinhart has more value. But if you get the Ginault at the discount like I did, then it is a no brainer

I agree the Ginault is slightly better quality on some parts of the watch, it's 3 times retail price of the Steinhart. I just don't agree about saying the Steiny is sub par with build quality. I've a V7 TC LV X and a gen Omega SMP. My click mechanism on my OVM is better than both!
And I've seen a review on YouTube with a bloke that owns a gen Rolex Sub and a Ocean one and he said it ain't far behind on build quality Either. I would only pay for the Ginault if I got it for the review price with it having basically a Chinese copy of the eta 2824 and them decorating the bridges themselves, then saying it's a in house movement. Opinion of a lot on WUS.
So better case and strap with lesser movement for a direct copy on a 16610 with a Ginault dial on it.
I'll stick with my TC.
Perhaps your Steiny was a bad egg out of a bunch but they're not sub par on build guality and yes a slightly different shape and size because they've put their own signature on their watches with that and not done a direct replica copy like Ginault has.
Most Steinharts always re sell at least just under, same or even more than retail price on eBay too.
That's not just my opinion that's, fact but yes the Ginault is a nice watch. Ive read up on why they've done certain things with parts etc so they can say( Made in the USA) .
Its just a pity it hasn't got a genuine eta 2824 like the Steiny oceans have in it for the retail price! [emoji6]
