I think arf daytona is very very good now if you can source noob caseback, removing deco plate with 7750 rotor and with noob caseback you get nice daytona with gen thickness, almost perfect SELs,nice bezel, almost perfect dial, perfect bracelet and clasp and now updated short pushers like gen

I’ll be listing a load of ARF’S over the next few weeks where I've removed the deco plates. Thickness all around 12.5mm. Two SS one RG. None of them are perfect - one has a case that had to be salvaged so the rehaut is barely visible (but the case geometry is very close to gen) and one has a white noob dial, but they will all be bargain prices. Keep an eye out!

How do you go about removing the decorative plate/7750 rotor? I tried removing the 3 screws located at the center but it doesn't seem to do anything.

Hi everyone,

I am wondering what the difference is between the gen Daytona crystals:

Rolex 116500 reference : B-25-7000-2-C1

Rolex 116520 reference : B-25-295-5-V2-C1

Hope some one can help me with this?

I am modding a noob v2 4130,with a CF bezel and Shaved Arf dail.
And was curious if it will be an upgrade/ noticeable improvement.

And what xtal is closer to gen(reflection,LEC,shape and overal quality?
Noob v2.2 (don’t know if they have updated with V3)
Or Arf v2 ?

Hope anyone can shine some lights on it.

Have a great NYE everyone and let’s hope for the next coming year a lot of impressive improvements like the A4130 movement was last year!

Hi :)

I can't really help you with the Rolex references, my wild guess is that the gaskets size might slightly differ. Anyway, several mentioned that the gen xtal doesn't really add value to the watch. However, ARF xtal is considered of better quality than the noob one and gives a nice look to the dial as it has a touch of AR.

In the pipeline, I'm building a noob v3 with CF bezel, ARF's white dial 116500 or Noob's 116519 dial and ARF xtal.

Hope this helps

Have a great NYE too

I still don't understand why someone will buy a non functional chronograph...hmm. Only because Noob has "fat" subdials...on some watches, ok! If you want to have something closer to the gen...well I think the functional chronograph is the first thing.

Does anyone know how to properly remove the decorated plate/rotor from the ARF Daytona 7750 movement? I am trying to replace it with a heavier one and can't seem to remove the old one. Thanks in advance!

That’s not just about having fatter subdials. ARF hour markers are much more finely rounded and polished, the coronet is much better shaped and catches light in a totally different way than noob, subdial print is much more crisp and also is the 5 line writing. Oh and yeah, subdials are thinner too :)

As you can also see in the pic I posted above the bezel is dull in indoor environment. That’s a dead giveaway at any distance, numbers are almost unreadable. Typical noob

Anyway the stock ARF is HELLA thick, and as you said has a non functionally chrono.

Can’t wait to fit dial and bezel on my noob

Mate, everything you said is correct, however do you think someone will understand if you have gen or rep on your wrist. I personally prefer V3 and functional chrono. My logic is...buy, wear and enjoy, buy another one when is broken.
But....this is your watch and your money, so i hope you will be happy with the final product and will wear it in good health. Happy New Year

As you said, you "think" that functional Chrono is the most important. That's your opinion, others have a different opinion. In real life nobody uses their Chrono, even gen owners. And in any case the ARF has a functional second hand for the Chrono, so you would need to wait a full minute to see that it's a fake Chrono.

I don't care either way, but people have different priorities. The ARF is also much cheaper

Mine is 12.5 mm,thinner than any noob with simple cheap works on it you have better finished daytona with better bezel, dial, bracelet and crystal for less money, even the pushers are now short as gen pushers... i know few guys who wears gen daytonas and any of them dont know how to use chronograph hahah, they only wear it cuz it is rolex daytona and it is beautiful watch... and if someone starts chrono on arf it will start running

Thanks a lot for your advice buddy!
But wasn’t it that the gen Daytona xtal doesn’t use any ar?
Or am I wrong?
