Aaaah, the goodies finally landed! Glad to see that you've jumped in right at the deep with the project. If you have any issues with the build, please feel free to ask, I've already started on the tutorial and should have it done by Friday morning, but I think we both know you won't wait that long :D

I'm watching this from the edge of my seat! It's such a thrill to finally see all the parts come together to make a superb timepiece, especially knowing all the sweat and effort that goes into this conversion. My hat's off to you, Zorro: you take my work and make it shine :)

Very nice indeed! I trust that they used some sort of masking to cover the lettering and crystal while media-blasting? The edges will be easy as pie to re-polish though :)

Thanks Gio ....yes I made a mask to cover the crystal section and the lettering
let me just say to you it was not a easy job as it was small and fiddly.. you have 2 edges to sand down to a very smooth finish before 2 part compound polish was applied to get the mirror like finish !!

just finished case back edging polish to the correct finish again .......

What a freaking killer watch!

I do have one suggestion though- it looks like you're using a buffing wheel to polish the top of these:

DSCF1157.jpg

1200-Grit sanding belt or better will give the edges a very nice sharp and defined finish without the over polishing and rounding that a polishing wheel accomplishes.

Belt sanders can be gotten fairly cheap, hell, only $40 at Harbor Freight

@bachs thanks for the words

Actually its abrasive wheel first and the felt pad to finish off the polishing with 2 part compound .. and the polished part do curve the are not flat edged ...hence why ive keep it the same ...
