Zorro, why is it that they want to charge you for the parts? Do the UK customs always charge import fees, or is it because this time the declared value exceeded a given amount?

Unfortunately, the thievery at customs is administered very arbitrarily. It certainly is here, and it seems to be the case elsewhere too: just bloated bureaucracy that is accountable to no one and we get the short end of the stick.
Don't despair my friend, the thieves will want to get paid eventually so they'll have to relinquish the package. We like to plan things out far in advance, but in reality, sometimes things just have to happen in their own time.

Zorro, you never fail to inspire me! I wasn't planning to get to the media blasting and coating for a while but now I've got the itch! Any luck getting your carbon parts from customs?
