My brain practically fries itself every time I think about which model I'd crave most—if a manual Lemania rep movement ever saw the light of day.

There are just too many icons. Too many legends. The possibilities? Borderline overwhelming.

After dropping a serious chunk of change on a gen-standard 3861, I swore I’d never come close to spending that kind of money again on another gen-Moonwatch variant. Never.

But here’s the tragic twist: if a rep Lemania actually becomes real—and they start releasing a flood of irresistible variants—I already know how the story ends. I’ll spend more overall. Way more.

And the cruelest irony? I won’t even hesitate. Not once. Because the damage will come in slow, painless increments. Death by a thousand Wise transfers. 😂

Just like a smack junkie convincing himself it’s just one more hit—because it’s cheaper, because it’s smaller, because this time it won’t spiral. But it always does... 😔😄

The new FOIS requires a different dial, domed sapphire, case and bracelet, .. Still I hope there will be enough demand for a great rep!
That domed sapphire is gorgeous! It should be available on the standard Speedy Professional!

Not an Speedy-Expert, so I might be wrong. The pic from the OP shows a bridge from the 861 or 1861, not the 321. Most likely the 1861 due to the position of the "swiss" engraving, which would be perfect for the FOIS 🤗

Here's the 321:

Here's the 861:

And here's the 1861:
yeah I mean, if they tried to take on doing a 321 movement that is another level altogether, in my opinion. If the masses will be happy with a 1861, why make it even more difficult and clone a 321.

2000 views in this thread and it's only been 3 days. The hype train is real lol. :ROFLMAO:

I’ve always said it: clone the Lemania right, and it’ll blow the f*** up. The Moonwatch is Omega’s only real legend.

Seamasters? Solid watches, has its fans (like me), and the latest generation of automatic gen Omega movements are actually technologically superior to Rolex—but in gen world, it ain't reaching the same demand/sales numbers as for example the Sub. The Bond connection is marketing fluff while the entire Rolex line up is horological legacy.

The Speedy Pro though is major history, space exploration, moon missions, NASA, Apollo—pure mythos on the wrist. Nail that Lemania clone, and you’re not selling a rep, you’re absolutely selling hype. 😎😅

Hmpf... too expensive allready :(
TBH - to start a discussion, are standard gen moonwatch dials all that difficult to replicate? They don’t have special WG markers, any specific kind of texture or color. They’re black with everything printed on the dial in most variants. They mass produced so many of them over the years.

The omega enthusiasts used to nerd out over tiny differences like how brown the aged tritium lume looked or a dot on a bezel “dot over 90”. Until recently Omega didnt have any major restrictions on spare parts.

I’m actually half expecting any eventual moonwatch release to be a NWBIG, like a basic Panerai.

The limited edition variant dials have definitely went through the roof in pricing, but that’s happened already (Mitsukoshi dials used to be $400-600 7-8 years ago, now I see them offered for $3000) and the other coveted limited edition dials were never readily available anyway (I looked for years for a Speedy Tuesday ST-1 Panda dial.. maybe not hard enough, but never saw one).

If anything, I wonder if we’ll finally get a ton of cool variant rep dials available, if the rep factories have a base of demand out of thousands of people with clone lemania movements. It’s what I’m looking forward to (probably naive to think any dials will be available separately and the rep factories will likely just make you buy a new watch entirely for each new release though) 🤣

If the rep came out to cost $800-1000, how many people would still buy it? Just a serious question. At that price you're 20-30% of the way to a Moonwatch..... and half of the way towards a Reduced

That’s why it took so long. Speed masters are just barely attainable and nothing rare. I think the market is still too small compared to the Daytona.

I would rather have another Daytona over a Speedmaster. It’s too big, too bulky, color variations are not that versatile, manual wind and from a lesser brand.

I guess it depends on the watch. If it is one of the Snoopy moon watches like, say, the 50th anniversary Silver Snoopy award watch that sells for $15-20K on the secondary market or the “failure is not an option” watch that is $40K, an $800 rep I can actually get while I sit on the waitlist for a gen may make sense, since the crazy secondary market prices are just … crazy.

Plus, it is a big assumption that the cost will be that high. Omegas with an 8500/8900 clone movement are not that expensive, and neither are Pam’s with a P900 clone movement. Both of those are more like $400 (maybe close to $500).
