The sail strap provided by TD's is 23/20. It comes with the tapered buckle which is 21mm wide at the top and 20mm wide at the bottom. Just my 2 cents, the watch wears better on a 23/22 strap with an alternative buckle.

anyone knows whats the regular length for the strap cause the one from the TDs are in XS yes?

PS: anyone has a pic of his BFF mounted on a Brady sail-cloth strap?

Mine on the Citizen 23mm racer strap, thinking about coloring the stitching to black, really like the looks of it!!!

This strap looks good. But gold stitch is at odds with watch colours, so make sure you use indelible ink or what you got?

Is the standard rep strap water resistant? So can you go diving with it without it falling apart like the glue n stuff?

+1 Interested in this as well.

And do you guys know which TD has the normal black one in stock?
I have emailed all the ones I could think of and they only have the gold version.

Standard rep strap is junk -- I haven't swum with it, but I wouldn't trust it. Get a proper dive strap for it and you won't have an issue. Toro had the black in stock as of 2 weeks ago, not sure if he still does. Keep your eyes on the m2m Sales Threads. Much better chance there.

well i highly doubt its fully water-proof but at least from my experience with the blue one i have, its abit water resistant as in the water droplets will stay on top of the strap and not literally be absorbed into the strap like what you would see in a leather strap.

I am not planning to do diving or swimming with it (as I leave that to my casio or citizen) but has anyone here considered a black hornback strap on the Blancpain and has already done this before (and has pics of it)?

Thanks mate. Thats good to know. I'm on the lookout for a swimming watch as I am heading to the Phillipines soon for a holiday and only intend to take a single watch with me. So when I'm on the beach I can wear out at night and swim with it. Do you think the strap would fall apart though from say 1 week of swimming everyday in the ocean?

Strap aside, I'd be worried about swimming with the watch itself. Unless you plan to grease the seals yourself, I don't think I'd take a chance...

Hi all.
I've just ordered one of these and am thinking about getting a Torx T3 in advance with some Loctite. I have some questions that you may be able to help with:

1-- Should I get the Loctite Red, Blue or Purple 222? It seems that the 222 is the one to go for as it is more suited for smaller screws and not heavy duty uses?
2-- Any recommended T3 drivers?
3-- Some T3 drivers are magnetised. Are these safe to use on the Blancpain - i.e. need to prevent the watch being magnetised. Or does the anti-magnetism work on the rep too?

Thanks

I use Blue Loctite, but have since been kicking myself over an over application on a Radiomir discovered yesterday during a strap change, so I would go with light application of Blue or a normal application of Purple. Get the Wiha torx set -- they are the best and are on eBay for cheap. Also consider getting a set of T4's as some of the screws are inconsistent (I had 3 T4's and 1 T3). I doubt the anti-magnetism shield beneath the case back serves any function, but the magnetism on the drivers is so low I would not be worried about it. Just don't open the case back and play magician with the tips and you'll be fine. Enjoy your new piece!
