Review Guide Announcement

As you surely know, by other posts, I’m preparing (now almost finished) a big Thread Review of PANERAI as a Guide of Identification and Selection of Panerai replicas. Including pics, characteristics, finish, materials, movements, dimensions, lug, replica links, gen links, interesting information, etc…In order to can select and identify a PAM replica.

In all members benefit, I would like to introduce in the Data Table of each PAM model some simple information about the quality of the existing best reps for this model in the market.

I have made a provisional classification in three levels:
SUPER REPS – reps very close to the gen in materials, external look (even in side by side comparison), and reliable
FIRST CLASS REPS- reps very close to the gen and reliable, but with some difference in materials, functions… or little differences in external look or colours only remarkable in side by side comparisons.
BAD-LOW GRADE REPS- reps with evident differences with the gen, different materials, functions, colours, very different movement with a display caseback. In general all replicas which have not any good version and are not at all recommendable to buy them.
I will consider the rest of non classified replicas as GOOD OR MEDIUM GRADE REPS

I cannot know perfectly all existing reps of Panearai. Therefore:

I WOULD APPRECIATE THE OPINION FROM THE PAM EXPERTS ABOUT THE ABOVE CLASSIFICATION AND CORRECTIONS.

It will be no necessary to classify all the reps of a model, only the best rep available. For example in PAM 111 you have just to say SUPER REP because there are the 111M and N from Noob without more specification.

In order to help you identifying each PAM number you can consult directly Panerai Source (File: List all watches)

I will combine all the data and resume the conclusions in this thread and in the Thread Review Pam Guide

Please take your time in this reply because the info will be useful for all members. And mainly don’t forget any model. No mentioned models will be considered as GOOD OR MEDIUM GRADE REPS

I know this is a little hard job but it will be very useful for all members and it is worth your effort. (It took me almost 300 hours, yes three hundred, to put together the complete Review Guide)

I would want finishing this info before 20 April if possible.

I wouldn't say 305 and 360 are super reps. I'd put them on first class reps. 305 has obvious tells (bad bezel, bad lume , very bad crystal...) and 360 also has several issues (not pre-v hands, polished cp...).

I'd put 213,286 and 253 on first class with the 212.

You also forgot the Daylights 250, 236 and 162 first class reps like the 188 and 251. Maybe I'd put them on super reps.

Amazing job!!! IMHO the 305 should be in first class, and not in the super rep category. Just too many details still not perfected - and the lume is severely lacking... Hopefully the rumors are true and it will be the next Noob Factory release - their guy is seriously close to copying the P9000 movement - should be a wimner! Thanks for all your hard work, Ale - this is an invaluable tool for us all. Cheers!

I agree about to downgrade the 305 to First Class.

Concerning 360, I agree to reconsider the rating but I prefer to wait for more opinions about the version V2

If we have more inputs I will downgrade it immediately

Concerning Chronos, actually I have 212 and 253 in the First Class and the 213 and 286 in Good reps. I had consider that a lack of Rattrapante function (with a pusher without function) in 213 and 286 is more serious that a simple lack of real function like the Flyback in 212 and 253. Is for this reason that I had the 212 and 253 in First Class but 213 and 286 in Good reps.
Maybe you are right and they should be in the same range.
Therefore I will place 213 and 286 in First Class position with 212 and 253.

I will leave the 188 and 251 in First Class without upgrade, but in case we have more inputs about upgrading them I will do it.
I agree to upgrade 250 and 236 in the same First Class level of 251 and 188.

I will upgrade 162 following your indications. But I had placed it in Good reps due to its inaccurate colour of the grey subdials. If we receive more information about this issue I will downgrade it again… LOL

Concerning Radiomir 183 I agree, It was in the limit from my first evaluation. So upgraded already too.

But what about the Radiomir 380 ??? Please inform me about your thoughts.

We note these remarks and if we have more imputs about that, I will reconsider the classification of these reps.
Anyway, for the PAM 111 it is a microscopic issue. I think people doesn't agree with downgrade it. The ROY2011 PAM and general !!!
