I do not take it personally TT. I understand your views on this, but you will have to concede that Tim was not your average rep dealer. He spent a lot of time and effort in building, what was at the time, one of the most popular rep forums ever. Anybody that knows him, knows how much of his heart and soul he put in to this place. At the time I would have put Tim and Thomas on the same podium.

What happened with Tim was not a scam. He was arrested and sent to prison. He certainly did not profit from this situation. As for the people that were left without watches? They were willing participants in an illegal activity. If Tim were dealing Cocaine, would you expect him to fulfill any incomplete orders with his clients once released from prison? They were all in on it and knew the risks when it happened, and should not expect any re-numeration now that the scam has fallen apart.

I believe very little of what I read when it comes to dealers going awol. Excuses are normally just that. If you don't believe Tim's story, then that is your right, but I for one can't see any reason not to believe him. Given that, I can not see how any of us would not have the compassion to let this gentleman get on with his life.

And remember, Tim was not being a greedy person way back when. He was simply trying to provide watches to his membership at a fair price.

Not a good analogy Andrew.
He would not have to fill any orders. He'd be dead, or running. Certainly not coming back to the area where he left people hanging. In your statement you are also proclaiming everyone here as partaking in criminal activity which vilifies his wrong doing. I don't think that's a fair assessment.

to believe your story Tim, please do the following:

present us one of the hundreds of papers you have recieved in your time of suffering. scan .....lets say you prison orders ( of course without name and whereabouts, but date), court orders, search warrant..... or any other believable documents...that can back your story.

if you can do that.....your name and person is 100% restored in my book.

i am using new blue pearl and for some reason all the little wings are in a single line stretching all the way across the page. it ends up making it about 3 times wider than it should.

HK, this was part of what I was talking about to LoS and Tnik during his "Real Talk" thread. I really do wish that this technical glitch was fixed.

It's not really a "glitch" It has to do with Tim's registration date of 1969. One chevron for each year of membership. Finding and changing it to 2006 in the PHPBB tables is next to impossible according to D4M. The only or easiest solution I can think of. Is to have Tim create a new account. Then associate his old posts to the new account and remove the Drmmaster account.

While I understand the legality Andrew, this has nothing to do with what happened. So I am not sure why you think it validates you misleading point. This community is to protect members from exactly what Tim did. He took the risks, not the members here. I do not believe we are guilty by association as you proclaim. Where is the members motive for profit?

Sorry if I'm out of place here, being new and all ..

But let me just break this down a little and see where ppl are having problems.

1) Tim left w/ a lot of money ..
2) Tim comes back says he's sorry and will make things right w/ those he owes money to.
3) Says he has been in jail ( Story does not matter he is back and that says a lot)
4) From what I have read most of you think Tim was an alright guy before disappearing.

I'm confused as to why there are discussions about the validity of his story, when the mail point we should be focusing on is that he is back and has stated he is going to make good to those he owes.

this thread started with a certain amount of sincerity, somewhat with a tone of humility and regret and now it has become hijakcked by the "Ultimate fighters'" tag team.....

Jesus, can we ever just focus on one thing and end it with that one focus or does this forum always have to have a bunch of hacklers, cry babies and sour puss to send threads to hell?

I remember this saga and sure, wrong has been done, money lost and feelings hurt.

I say what to this?

I say forgive, move on and get a life.

Life is too short to dwell on money lost and all that shit. I, myself, have lost a shitload of money over the last ten years in this louzy watch hobby and on Ebay. I sent two gen watches to a guy in Mexico and claimed he never received them. That shit cost me $600....

Then, just recently, on RG, a sold a rep to a member there. He claimed he never received it, that shit cost me $150...

Some years back I bought a $200 comic book from a good dealer, never received the f**cking book. That cost me $150...

ETC,ETC.

But here's the kicker: I have moved on. I will not spend my precious short life eating my nails raw over the money lost...you will not see me sit by the computer, writing endless posts after endless post, expressing my bitterness and ect....

I spend my time enjoying other things and I did not go broke because of the money lost: I work full time and so does my wife and because we're only talking about hundreds of dollars and NOT thousands, I can take the hit, move on and even forgive.
Not forget but forgive.

Now, beyond money lost, what I think is the worst thing to ever lose is TRUST....
