Last of all - I would not chase heavily the idea of perfection in a precious metal replica. You will always have trade offs. It will never be perfect. Either accept that steel with less weight is the better v
Maybe its offtopic (I am not sure) but my wife also says that the fact I gained 20kilos only on my belly and mate believe me when I say it isnt muscles, that its not very balanced.

Meteorite is QF Weighted Tungsten
Congo is CF Stainless Steel
Both surprisingly have the same crystal size
CF is thinner on case+crystal height

I asked TD to source a bracelet for the Meteorite no luck, will leave as is

Is that the correct bracelet for a 116509? Should the end links not protrude from the lugs?

QF are at best, a mid-tier factory and nothing like BTF or Clean. Choosing from different factories is always a balance of compromises - in the case of QF you give up build quality for weight.

that is an accurate verdict, clean with a heavy weight version wont take longer fingers crossed

I'm not sure clean are interested in going this route. At the moment, Tungsten is a bit of a fad. It doesn't like to be worked and has other problems when plated. It's only a thing if you like passing it to other people so they think its real - something which is low on most peoples priorities. There are those who say they enjoy the weight, but you soon get used to that, to the point where after a day or so of wearing a gold watch, it feels normal, and returning to a steel watch feels light.

Totally agree. It's a fad.

I feel like this weight shit is overhyped especially in terms of comfort. I wore my AP Offshore with bracelet at 255g and I legit took it off halfway through the day because it was so uncomfortable.

Daily driving a 200g+ watch is like strapping half a pound to your wrist. It'll hurt if you have to wear it long term.

The lightness of steel is a benefit not a negative.

Yeah, but $$ ?
Well sorry, every improvement costs.
If you dont know that, stick to a 50usd 2813 rep:)
Better xtal? Better bracelet? A clone movement? All costs. One step of those are the tungsten cases with stainless steel around🤷‍♂️ you get what you pay, everyone has to decide what he wants to pay.

$1300 for the case not including plating
$700 for the base watch Clean
$200 for plating
$50 for Deep

So total $2300. Not cheap. That's 3 regular Daytonas or 2 custom Daytonas

Sure not cheap.
Plating is included (you can choose whitefols or rosegold in shop). But yes, 2100 is not cheap. But lot of people pay more for frankens.

Nobody said its cheap. But as I sayd, you cant think you get a superduperwatch with NO flaws when paying beta

True, but illustrating your point with a $50 AAA isn't valid when the baseline from Clean and BTF is already pushing towards $900.

We're also talking about PM - which the factories never get right, largely because it's a buillshit coating job - these reps have never been anywhere near PM. So there's no point in any tungsten rep, unless you have it stripped and replaced properly. Add that all together - wrapped around a movement that can shit itself at the push of a pusher - with no warranty, and it's not a fun toy / hobby anymore - the appeal is limited.

And Clean / BTF know it.

I think he's talking about Xing's new development for Tungsten, it's fairly insane. It's a tungsten core but the outer shell is steel. It's really insane actually.

There are those who say they enjoy the weight

Here here. I’ve got no interest in precious metal reps unless the weight is close enough, and it’s exclusively a personal enjoyment thing. When I made a few disposable reps of my wedding ring after almost losing it multiple times while traveling, I initially did silver but ended up unsatisfied because the weight decrease was extremely noticeable for me. Jeweler then suggested tungsten which I took him up on and now absolutely love.

How about chucking it on an oysterflex either grey or black, granted its not a nice as an oyster but solves all the issues of a cheap bracelet and the weight, it also has a more understated look that has a cool appeal on a precious metal watch!

regarding the weight, case is very similar is the bracelet that is a big tell, feeling wise and built wise
Friend let me chime in. I’m reading this thread about the weight and color tone from a white gold precious metal vs steel, and QF poor feeling bracelet, when I see in one look that it’s a rep from the wrong SEL.

116509 has protruding SEL. Clean nailed all the details and dimensions on the 116509 as it’s true 1:1 replication, including perfect bezel engravings. What’s the point grinding on about weight, color and quality when it screams replica at a glance. Just my 3 cents 😉

This, taking it to it's extreme a gen Platona is 283grams.

A gen DeepSea is 228g, I see no reason why my rep would be that different, it's bloody heavy after half a day I know that. I half forget I've got a (steel obv) Sub, a GMT, a Daytona on, never that!

No one who's actually got precious metal Daytona type money is asking to hold or even to see your watch.
